I have 50 pipes and am satisfied for now. I do, however, plan to give in to TAD and start stocking large amounts of my favorites and a few new blends. The "tobacco nazis" are trying too hard to deny us one of life's simple pleasures.

A really good way to go...
When I got back in the hobby, I knew that time was wasting on cellaring, so I invested knowing that prices would only climb...at some point I will probably thin my herd on many pipes and use the proceeds for finer pipes, but time is more on my side in that regard....or so I figure.

It's what I'm doing... But slowly.
Enjoy the journey...

I'm actually doing the opposite right now. I am smoking down my cellar and killing jars. Importing tobacco into Thailand is very serious if you're caught with basically more than two cartons of cigarettes, or so. That of course means that my cellar would be clear over the limit. Customs can be tedious but they usually ignore me. I'm not testing them, though, because I am going back to marry and get my retirement visa.

It may not be everything you like; however, you have more than enough at fifty pipes. Tobacco is another question.

Even tobacco that you don't particularly fall in love with...is someone else's favorite and worth trading...so no matter what you get, it is worth it, cause when they stop internet purchases...game will be over.

Theres no such thing as "enough" tobacco. Tobacco has been traded for centuries. To this day, it is still traded.
Since I started I've picked up pipes here and there and have enough to keep me happy. But my main focus was, and still is, tobacco. I'll continue to buy a little more every week like I have been.
Tobacco is good, tobacco is currency

You’ve made a wise decision. Buy all the tobacco you can afford and build your cellar wide and deep.

I thought this exact same thing about ten years ago. I had a CT Scan on my chest today, yup Sunday at VA which isn't uncommon, and thought driving home what the f*ck am I going to do with this sh*t if it comes back positive next week? That's game over. Bottom line is you judge the risks and then take your chances. Nobody gets to be Peter Pan forever. Food for thought before over stocking the cellar.

...keeping my fingers crossed, Mark... hope it turns out well... Thanks Martin, greatly appreciated. I normally delete other stuff when quoting people because it does save space and cost the Patch less money.

A lot cleaner look on the forum also..... copying long posts repeatedly gets tiresome to look at.
