Hello everyone. Just signed up. Live in Oceanside, New York. Long time cigar smoker for 20+ years. Got into pipes a year ago, and have had maybe 2 cigars since then. Feel like I was missing out on something big here. Better late than never, I guess. Completely taken in by my new love of the pipe. And the fact that it is so much easier on the wallet, is great too. I can enjoy so many more blends now, and more often. Started off with aromatics, and quickly went to English, VaPer's and more complex non aromatics. Big Latakia lover now. Having a great time learning more about the hobby and discovering and enjoying new flavor profiles. Got a nice selection of briars, corn cobs, and one IMP Meerschaum pipe already. Stinks that Dunhill pipe line is going out of production, just as I was starting to enjoy all of their fine offerings. Hope to learn more here, and share my experiences with everyone.

I’m very familiar with Oceanside, in Nassau County. My Dad owned a business in The Lincoln Shopping Center.

You may want to check out some of the blends that are heavy in cigar leaf, too.
Great suggestions are Habana Daydream and Billy Budd (cigar note not as profound in Billy, but still a great tobacco).

Yo Mario - welcome from near Philly.
You ought to tap into the New York Pipe Club. Some members live on the Island, though monthly meetings are in Manhattan. They do have summer picnics out on the Island though. This year's IPSD is being celebrated on Saturday near Wall Street at Barclay-Rex. You may also want to cross a couple of rivers for the March New York Pipe Show that's now actually at the Newark airport.
