I find that the the standard answer on AR15.com when a poster is asking for advice on which gun to buy is applicable to this conundrum - "Get both"

If my house burned down and all my tobacco went up in smoke, but think of the neighbourhood note... Depends on what neighborhood you live in? Come around here would bellyache.

I only buy a few in tins, and then it's to stock up. The rest is in bulk. Bulk, for me, is the better deal. Cheaper and I've never had a bad one. The tins are, Wild Hare, any of the Ole Shenandoah, and maybe something else I want to try. I get Half & Half in the pouches because it stays fresher longer. The same with SWRA and Velvet. I don't cellar anything, because I'm too busy smoking it all up. But, I do have quite a stash in mason jars. All different kinds and probably enuf to last the rest of my life. It's gonna end soon. My son is going to inherit a mess of pipes and baccy. No money, just smokin' stuff, and all my old clothes. But, some of the pipes will fetch a good buck. So, if he's smart about sellin' them, he'll do alright. At least the VA and the county will pay to bury me as a pauper.

I buy bulk when I can and for others where tinned is the only option, well I have it stacked high.

There are very few bulk blends that I am interested in.
