Well I decided to celebrate my birthday early, it’s a nice day out, albeit somewhat chilly at the moment. I purchased some Mac Baren Virginia #1 that is 21 y/o, now that is a feat of loveliness as far as tobacco goes. This Dunhill Redbark ODA with 18k Gold Hallmaked band comes from the estate of Ed Jurkeiwisz and I’m celebrating my 69th birthday 2 days early because I can! banjo

What a pipe! I'm sure that VA #1 is excellent.
Stay warm, sir.
Happy Birthday!

Thanks all, only reason I decided to celebrate early is yesterday is the best weather we expect for the near future and tomorrow looks to be nasty. banjo

Great Looking Pipe! Ed was a close friend of mine. He carved pipes under the name E Andrew but he loved and collected Dunhill Bulldogs. That pipe was originally owned by the legendary Chicago collector and friend Ed Lehman. Ed was one of the first generation of collectors who founded the hobby as we know today. Ed loved red pipes and I hope Mike had the Red leather sleeve Ed had made for his pipes. He sent those pipe to Dunhill in London for 18k fitted bands. I bought a couple from Ed when he sold off his Dunhills to buy Danish pipes and have added others since. Ed L always smoked English Mixtures like Number 10 and Ed J love Tordenskjold Virginia Slices. If your ever interested in moving the pipe it would have a happy home in my collection and complete a 7 day set of Ed's gold banded pipes!!!!

Well as it has it I too enjoy Tordenskjold Virginia Slices! The pipe didn’t come with any sleeve unfortunately but you can count on my remembering you collect Ed’s dawgs if I decide to part with it, cheers. banjo
