Which new blend have you been wanting to try, or are about to try? What's on your shortlist of tobacco that you've thought about trying next? I got a few tins in the mail I've had my eye on, and have been eager to try for the first time. I also got 2oz. of Habana Daydream on recommendation from unknownpipesmoker (thanks). Admittedly, the quest to find the perfect blend is half the fun for me. I love trying new things. Not sure which blend to sample first?? I love these kind of problems . Any thoughts on my selection?

For me I’d recommend you trying Plum Pudding than purchase a tin of the Reserve 👍👍. Next tru Comoy’s Cask #1, all of the Comoy’s tobacco’s are excellent. Hope you enjoy. You’ll be buying a few tins of SOC Plum Pudding Reserve once you opt your first tin👌👍👍

Those about which I'm at least mildly curious are too many too mention. Of the new ones on their way to me for trying them for the first time, I'm most curious about Stanwell: Melange.

Maybe one of these days, the "Original Warehouse Blend" (OWB) Louisiana Broken. Here's a description of the blend; “Louisiana Broken“ is a Virginia Ready Rubbed Flake, its Virginia grades pressed for an optimal maturation process. “Louisiana Broken“ is balanced with a good bit of Perique and a touch of Kentucky. Robust, bold, expressive, but at the same time sweet and creamy is how you could describe this blend. Full of character and in best tradition of the craft, this tobacco offers pure pleasure of smoking for relaxed moments. It is a must for Perique aficionados and a dream come true for those who love distinctive tobacco blends."
However, there's other stuff in the cellar that needs attention first

Habana Daydream is REALLY GOOD. Sometimes I forget its not a cigar I'm smoking.
I really want to try Midnight Drive. Any similarity to Dunhills big three blends there?

If I can get a little cigar flavor in my pipe too, it would be the best of both worlds. Going to smoke it on my way in to work tonight. Smells good in its new jar. I'll let you know how the others go as I smoke 'em. The Midnight Drive looks interesting.

OK...you've tried the Pudding...now just imagine that same taste magnified 10 times and smoother than a silk stocking...THAT is what you are missing...PP Special Reserve...just plain outstanding...can't get any better than that. I don't usually get all crazy and twitchy about most tobaccos...but this one...I'd do handstands if I could.
By the way...usually I keep my mouth shut until I had at least a couple pounds...but this is family so I gotta tell ya...it is fabulous!!

Well the latest "new to me" is Marlin Flake. I have been enjoying it immensely! Small bowl seems to bring out all the flavors.

The one that I’ve never tried and that I’m sitting on is a tin of Frog Morton (Frog on a log) I purchased it in 2016 as a newbie, because everyone said you have to try this. So it’s the one I can’t wait to try, but waiting for that certain time, occasion etc.

I have literally had two pipes side by side comparing regular to special reserve and hands down, special reserve is a mind blower. I am curious how the regular will age. I wonder if in time it could become closer to what special reserve is. I guess we will see in five years.

Quick update. The Plum Pudding was excellent! Full of flavor. This one was a winner, and will be a new staple in my cellar. Now you guys got me wondering how good the Special Reserve could be??? Guess I'll put it on the list of next to try, after I go through these first. Thanks for the recommendation.

Lane 1Q. Not kidding. I need to wait until I go to America first. If you like aromatics, you'll enjoy 1Q. That and BCA were some of my first pipe tobaccos, that got me into the hobby. Nice taste and room note. My co-workers liked the way it smelled too.

Plum Pudding is one of the best in the business, glad you enjoyed it! I just picked up some C&D Autumn Evening after reading about it here, that will be my new blend for the week.
