There is a problem staying logged in. Whenever I start to do anything, and it doesn't happen, I have learned to glance up to see if my name is on the page. Every time, without failure, and it never misses a beat, the page will say, "welcome guest" and show the login radio button. This is a never ending, constant re-occurrence. If I want to respond to someone, and I hit "Quote" it will take me to a form where I can type my message, and after typing it, when I try to either preview, or post, it won't post, but will tell me I'm not allowed to. There is no recovery. The message is then trashed by the forum system. It just disappears into the ether. The forum system will have logged me out the instant I hit the button to either post or preview, or it times out while I'm typing. What can I do to prevent this from happening. What can be done by an administrator to prevent this from happening.

I am guessing that it has more to do with something on your end...I have never had any problems as described.

Neither have I. What are your internet browser settings? Do you have it set up to automatically delete cookies or something like that?

I'm no computer guru but I'd check your "Privacy" settings and make sure the "Cookies" are enabled.

You MUST accept “ cookies “ from ALL websites while visiting, after I delete ALL. Make sure your web browser is up to date. I use Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Dolphin. Not a fan of Google Chrome for personal reasons. Good luck

I like Firefox and Vivaldi, but I admit that Chrome has the least issues with websites. I try not to use it, but I keep getting sucked back into the evil Alphabet browser.

On my Apple devices I use a browser called “ Savy Soda “ .........the paid version with no adds. I believe it was .99 cents a number of years ago. When you close the browser it empties the “ cache “ automatically 👌👍👍. Uses Google as it’s main search engine.

Make sure that caching and cookies are enabled for all sites. It might be wise to erase ALL your private data, just make sure you have all your site passwords written or stored somewhere else before doing this. So, once you've enabled those in your privacy & data settings, and erased all your privated data, restart your browser. See how things work then. If its still screwy, just get a different browser. Standard firefox is pretty good.

Google Chrome can cause this problem, especially if all cookies are not accepted. Firefox with ABP or Ghostery will most definitely cause the repeated login problems.

Did any of these suggestions fix the problem? Thanx for the heads up on browser issues. All of these thoughts got me thinking. That's dangerous for me. However, the basic idea of a browser causing the problem began to become the most forward thought. I have been a die hard Firefox believer, ever since it sprouted from Netscape. I have done all I can to nurture the idea that is the basic Firefox principle. That of privacy, speed and the ability to add functional extensions, functional being the operative word here, that can tailor Firefox to personal use. I'm a confirmed Firefox believer. I do have, and occasionally use other browsers when Firefox isn't a best choice because of it's way of operating. For the longest time, Firefox had some built in problems that could not be eliminated by settings or extensions. That was their handling of how web sites interact with it. The details are unimportant, but the fix was and is. The Firefox folks totally re-wrote, using different code, methods and language, their engine and how it rendered everything internet. The name is still Firefox, but how it operates today is not like it did a few years back. I use the Firefox Nightly release, which helps immensely. It is designed to allow user "input" to the Firefox team for both design improvements and troubleshooting. The next couple paragraphs are strictly for giving a big picture. Not for any other purpose. I'm all too old to try to get anything out of this. I spent several years in Field Engineering for Control Data Corp. It was during their heyday when they were the best, fastest, most powerful mainframe super computer in the world. Problem was, they were based on Solid State technology. If you stop to look at all the changes in technology over the past 40 or 50 years, transistor radios fell by the wayside years ago. I liked them, and in some cases still do. They can be problematic to the extreme. At least tube type radios could be fixed. As a Field Engineer, I not only did hardware troubleshooting and repairs, but software issues also. There were many times the operators and users of the computers would, flatly, screw up. Never wanting to admit to, or be blamed for any problems they created, they would first start screaming about the computer being an abject failure. My job was to come in wearing a three piece suit, spit shined shoes, the perfect tie for the environment, carrying a black briefcase, getting out my code book, which included their preferred language for coding the failed program, read their memory dumps, and their machine generated failure reports and make them look stupid or worse, but in a way that made them feel good and love me for it. I did this also on IBM Mainframe Systems, Sperry Univac, and even some older types. The reason for the involvement with "Computer anderer Hersteller" was we made computer peripheral equipment for a lot of other systems. Our largest production volume was in disk drives, tape drives and add on memory. All of this difference meant I had to be fluent in both octal and hexidecimal machine code, and be able to meander thru a couple programming languages, never knew how to program, and act like I was the smartest person they ever met. That's a heavy load for a backwoods hick like me to try to carry, and truth be told, it broke me. I became insane. I always had that tendency, but that line of political bullshit pushed me over the edge. I was acting in a way that I was not designed to act. I was starting to believe my own lies. My poor brain was a confused, muddled mass of something that felt like a big bowl of GRITS. With cheese even. No eggs yet, but anticipating them. And the sausage gravy was cold and greasy. Remember, my operational imperative was always, and still is, BLUE COLLAR. Anything that went or goes against the blue collar mind set and way of life will drive me over the edge. I just can't cope with it. I'd sooner drive big trucks, with a flat bed full of crushed cars, or a roll of steel. Or pull a lowboy and oversized heavy equipment.Give me an 18 Speed Roadranger or more, and I can become very happy. No groceries or refers. Now, for the rest of the story. Page 4. I took all the ideas you guys had and tried another browser that I just installed. It's name is Brave. It's by a past Firefox CEO that made one using the Open Source Google Chrome Engine and rendering mechanism. Guess what, it works. That's a good thing, and I'm disappointed that Firefox can't get it right. They've had a troubled past with various web sites. One of their biggest failures was eBay. Other problems are Amazon, and Walmart. It has issues with web sites that use their own internal search engines. Especially those that act like they are better, by putting up "barriers" to make external products have a difficult time. It's not by plan, just how they design their search engines, and Firefox just can't integrate them. Brave does some things that I'm not a fan of, but I'm going to give it some time before I condemn it. I still do some programming on my PC, but only a bit. I still like to build my own PCs, and I'm just about due for another build. This one just ain't fast enuf. And, I want more disk space. What I have now is incredible, it's just running out because of videos I work on. I like to edit and other stuff. Anyways, Thanx for the heads up on browser issues. Let's keep on lookin' up
