Hey!
I have a chance to get a good deal on a Castello Shape 55 Sea Rock KKKK from a very reputable Italian site. The price is right, cheaper than I'd hoped. How do you who have smoked them like the new Shape 55s?

It sounds like the stars are aligned.... I have never smoked a Castillo, but all I hear is great things about them.
DaveinLAX knows a lot about Castello’s.

Castello Sea Rocks are wonderful pipes and KKKK is a good size. If you can get it at a good price you won't regret it.

Now the wait, but usually get here pretty quick via DHL and they don't pre report you to customs like FedEx. The 55 is a love/hate shape but Castello seems to be pumping them out so you have a very good choice. The 55 is not one of my shapes but the 30 has a similar bend and I look for a smooth line that has a continuous curve especially on the bottom so it doesn't look like it has a bunch of angles. Everyone has there own take on a shape but I prefer 55's that have a chin but not so much that it ruins the line. Some of them I've seen lately look they they tried to hard and the line just doesn't look right to my eye. Check out GL Pease's site he has a great eye and a solid 55 collection and his photos are as good as they get. Reach out to him via the Facebook groups if you have any questions. He loves to geek out on 55's. Enjoy!

Looks Great! Good proportions, the Sea Rock Carving looks good too. This guy knows nothing about the brand.... you need to redirect it to me for an honest evaluation.

That's why I pointed him in Pease direction but I've seen enough of your pipes to know you have a good eye. These threads are dangerous. I'm itching for a new pipe.

Man I love that sea rock finish they do; it must feel great in the hand. I really like how it pairs with the smooth rim in this shape. Beautiful pipe!

I have never been a fan of that shape. Seeing it with the sea rock rustication has changed my mind completely. Man that's sharp!👏 How does it smoke?

Easily the best smoke I've had from a new pipe. Nice draw, very cool, bowl very expansive and forgiving. And that Sea Rock with the chin feels GREAT in the hand. CW

Love the texture! Much like Savinelli's Capri rustication, must have great tactile appeal.
