So the wood bowls interchange with the metal bowls, and the side spindle supports hold the spare bowls? are the metal bowls lined with wood, cob, or something similar?

That’s about the best looking set of metal pipes I’ve seen. I wouldn’t mind having a set like that in my collection. Thanks for posting.

What are the benefits of smoking from a metal pipe, aside from aesthetic?
Any drawbacks?

a Kirsten style of pipe smokes cooler and drier then a briar pipe they literally clean in one minute and you never have to let them rest you can smoke them 10 times a day 365 days a year

How come the briar bowl doesn't need rested (if you don't mind me asking)? Or are you saying you can smoke it 10 times a day with different bowls?

Yes even with a briar bowl all of the juice or liquid that is produced well smoking goes down through the screw at the bottom of the bowl and into the radiator of the pipe where it is just poured out when it is cleaned so no you do not even have to rest the bowl

you know there really are no drawbacks unless you enjoy relighting your pipe. with a Kirsten Bowl once you learn how to pack it you light it once and it burns all the way to the bottom without relights. I have let my pipes sit 5 to 8 minutes at a time and come back to it and there is still in Amber smoking.

I usually have issues with the screw getting blocked and not being able to smoke until I get it cleaned of blockage.
