I've discussed my acquaintance with Mary Tyler Moore with JimInks. She was as she appeared on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show". Polite, and cordial to a fault, she was one classy lady. My partner Bob Colbath and I (business, not sexual) ran a theatrical costume shop in NYC, as I've stated in other posts. One of our clients was Mary Tyler Moore. We did what was billed as "Professional Wardrobe". I went up to her apartment one afternoon to deliver some items we had made for her. She invited me in, and I sat down on the sofa. (Side note: She had all of her old "Dick Van Dyke Show" scripts bound in leather and on a prominent bookshelf.) I noticed a fellow with a beard and immediately recognized him as Mick Jagger. Then, I saw the woman next to him... it was Stockard Channing. Mary came back into the room, and we proceeded to do a few lines of coke. What can I say? The 1980s were what they were.

Polite, and cordial to a fault, she was one classy lady. Not to mention incredibly beautiful! I had a bit of a childhood crush on her. I noticed a fellow with a beard and immediately recognized him as Mick Jagger. Then, I saw the woman next to him... it was Stockard Channing. Mary came back into the room, and we proceeded to do a few lines of coke. Noooooo! Dang it, Mick! You corrupted Mary! I'm sh-sh-sh-shattered. Mick and Mary? Another great story, DT!

That’s a great story, I know she was a diabetic and for her drinking Coke was out of the question. If it was anyone else but you that mentioned Mary Tyler Moore did lines of coke I wouldn’t believe it. Nothing wrong with it, just can’t picture Mary snorting a few lines. I had always thought of her as “ the perfect American housewife “. I still think of her as “ perfect “!

Yes, are you writing a book, Martin? Autobiographical?

RIP Mary... a good friend...

Given that y'all ran a costume shop in the 1980s theatre industry, I can't hardly blame you for specifying the precise mode of y'alls partnership. Not that I would have judged you either way
