I drank some once. I don't recommended it. There is Brandy and there is superb Brandy. Many of those I don’t have the taste for!! The ones that have an oak barrel fruity finish are the ones I use to drink. MANY taste similar to rubbing alcohol.

What advice are you looking for? With so many choices out there I wonder what would seasonal drinkers would recommend except XO cognac. I would just buy XO cognac ( I tried Courvoisier XO) but it's roughly $250 in Canada.

Lots of good Spanish brandy’s that are inexpensive and drinkable. Torres, Cardenas Mendoza to name a few

I like several brandy types. I find Calvados to be an interesting departure from the norm. Apple based so it's a bit different and satisfying.

It's a Spanish brandy from Jerez (which means that they age it in oak casks) that costs about 20 USD per bottle. Osborne also has cheaper bottles in its line and a bunch of special editions which aren't much better nor as consistent as Magno. I personally drink it by itself as it's neither too sweet nor too dry (Torres is sweeter in my opinion and Presidente is much sweeter). In short, it's a bottle to keep on hand. If you want to spend a lot more both Cardenal de Mendoza and Duque de Alba are great traditional brands but in all honesty, Magno Osborne is the best deal to be had in brandy.

Hennesy is the only one I know of. It seems to be one of the most popular otc brandy in the UK.

Not brandy too much...but I like a good Port Wine now and again. Too much sugar and calories in them !!

Whiskies are my drink ( and martinis). But an occasional brandy is welcome. can't say I know much about them, though.

I like a good Cognac or Armagnac Both are brandies named for their regions of origin in France.

If you start with Hennessy as Legend Lover suggests, you won't go wrong.

Courvoisier is another better brandy (cognac). Either Hennessy or Courvoisier, both easily found, will treat you right. A few buck more than Gallo, however.
