When jarring moist tobacco do you ever get condensation on the glass?
If so what do you do in that case?
I would have thought that's not terribly great conditions for storing tobacco.
I haven't experienced this. I've bought some jars to get tobacco out of my pouches, but I'm trying to preempt something like this.

I've not experienced that myself. I tend to live in a dry climate, so don't know if that will happen. I make sure my jars are completely dry when I fill them. I run them through dishwasher and the the timed dry. Then air dry a bit. I don't really practice it, but I've been told to fill the jars when they are dry and hot (out of the dishwasher). The seal takes better that way. I also replace the insertable flat lid with the seal on it when reusing the jar with another tobacco.

Legend Lover Like Perry, I will generally hand-wash my wide-mouth one-pint jars and lids, and let them dry out to conclusion. Maybe wipe off a couple of drops here and there as well. They are completely dry prior to filling with a blend. So, I've not experienced the condensation issue to date on this end

I have when I jarred a pound of Sutliff Creme Brulee in a 1/2 gallon Ball jar. The tobacco was way to wet. I dumped it out on a cookie sheet and left it there for about 3 days. It put it back in and it's been fine ever since. That is the only time I have had moisture in my jars.
I have about 200 eight ounce jars with tobacco and have never had moisture in them.

Also I will add....try not to jar overly moist tobacco’s. Air dry or you can nuke or bake with methods posted in prior threads.
I pre-heat an oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, covering the bottom of the tray with foil. Spread tobacco on the cookie sheet, place on center rack and turn off oven. Depending how moist your tobacco is, 20 to 30 minutes your tobacco is ready to jar once cooled completely. Moisture/condensation inside the jar can create mold, that’s from personal experience and MHO. Every pipe smoker that’s been smoking for many years has their personal preference when it comes to jarring tobacco’s, I just gave you my preferred method.

Cheers for the advice. I don't think my stuff is overly moist... But the pouches allow for evaporation; jars don't.
That said, I bought cheaper jars that prob aren't as air tight. Time will tell.

I would do it the same as terraria. Open the lid until the condensation disappears then reseal. If condensation reappears, repeat until it doesn't. At that point humidity has achieved an equilibrium within the jar.

I would think that a blow dryer set at low would quickly dry it out.
Living in the desert, moisture isn’t much of a problem.

If it's an aromatic it is PG evaporating. My Lane 1Q does this and actually the only one that does it in my horde.
