I guess that's me, a real light-weight. I thoroughly enjoyed two big back-to-back bowls of my Old Dark Fired in my JM Boswell Freehand, which is a good sized pipe. I was down at the river here at the marina this evening, and it was a great, peaceful time on the water. But man, I got a nicotine hit like I've never had before! This is gonna wreck my cowboy image.

Nic hit is no fun...if you are old and on meds...you are in for a rough surprise "just smoking your pipe".

Did you smoke on an empty stomach? That can happen at times, not only you by the way.

There's no shame in that.
I've only smoked one bowl of Jackknife Plug and it killed me. Nic-hit, rough as hell and I think I had my first experience with a bit of heartburn. Thirty-seven years on this planet and that might have been my first and it was from tobacco and not food.

Might be my age and how long I’m smoking a pipe.

Try something really sweet if you get nicotine sick. Something like a snicker bar or a regular coke. That helps restore blood sugar. Low blood sugar is a side effect of too much Vitamin N.

I occasionally get nic'd, but I I just roll with it. It only lasts for 5 minutes or so for me.

I once smoked a tall poker full of Ten Russians. It made my head spin for sure. A little bit too much of a good thing. I learned to use the right pipe for that blend.

I enjoy strong blends and they occasionally get me. It starts with a knot in my stomach and then moves on niccups (nicotine hiccups). I just power through.
Your cowboy image in tarnish free in my head.

Again, I've yet to feel anything from a pipe. I'm kinda glad. I wouldn't want to feel sick after a bowl of one of my favourite blends. And also, your cowboy image is still good bigwoolie.

ODF is a blend of aged Virginia and Burley. I get that hit too, if I smoke too fast, too hot or too much. I usually put it in a smaller bowl pipe.

Glad it's not just me... smoked two full flakes down to the bottom of the bowl on an empty stomach... it was wonderful but about 15-20 minutes after I finished the nic hammered me hard...
No worries when I stick to just one flake...
For the record, ODF is at the very top of my list even though I'm still sampling... forever grateful to Sperrytops for recommending... Just finished my first tin and have some bulk arriving in the mail today...

I get a bit of dizziness on days when I take a full dose of niacin then smoke a strong tobacco. I don't think I have ever had it without the niacin primer.

Interesting - I had to google the relationship www.thesmokingcure.com/blog/which-supplements-help-with-quitting-smokingNow we can start telling ourselves that smoking is just giving us some extra Vitamin B.

Just don't start sashayin' like the Duke. In the Duke’s defense, that’s the Plainsman’s Walk. It’s a very efficient way to cover lots of miles quickly & quietly.

In California, Wyatt Earp also befriended a young actor named Marion Morrison who would later change his name to John Wayne and would become an American acting icon. Director John Ford hired John Wayne as a prop boy and extra, so he had the opportunity to meet Wyatt Earp. He made an impact on the young actor who later credited his walk, talk, and persona to his acquaintance with Wyatt Earp and on one occasion he reportedly said, “Earp was the man who had actually done the things in his life that I was trying to do in a movie. I imitated his walk; I imitated his talk”.
