After nearly thirty years of pipe smoking, my cellar is complete and my pipe collecting is done. In the past few weeks I've knocked my pipe collection down from nearly 200 to 42. My wife is just not getting that I'm done. Last month she ordered me a Nording duck, and with the estate sale at SPC, she grabbed an unsmoked Preben Holm Hallmark volcano.😕 I've stepped away from pipe and tobacco collecting in favor of my growing barber hobby. Now if she started buying getting me vintage barber tools, that would be amazing!😄 My fiancee isn't a fan of the smoke in general. She appreciates the craftsmanship and value of the pipes themselves but can't wrap her mind around why anyone would ever choose to smoke. She respects my decision to continue pipe smoking but she's just not crazy about it. Its really cool that you have accomplished all of this. I admire your wife for what she's done for you. That's really cool gift giving right there. You're a lucky man. I'm a pipe smoker, don't get me wrong. I have several dozen pipes, several dozen jars. While my smoking is definitely more elaborate than a Pall Mall or Backwoods cigar smoker, its still just something I do. Unless I'm on here reading about different smokes to try, or catching up on what you lot are doing, I don't even think about my smoke as I pack and light it much. Its just sort of a subconscious activity. I rarely buy new pipes or tobacco. I have a hard enough time smoking through what I've got. Sometimes I get into situations where my cellar just won't go - so I have to leave it behind with a friend, or gift it all away. I'm getting married next month and that's my situation - it just won't go. We're marrying and moving to Northern Thailand in May. Good luck to you. And good luck with your barbering hobby.

Good luck to you also, unknown...hope this move makes you happy! I consider my pipe smoking a way of life for me now. I have a good enough cellar and friends that have told me that I'll never go without...with that knowledge I will occasionally get a pound of something that I smoke a lot of...and now thanks to the generosity of Scrooge (James) I have a pipe that while I may smoke, I love just looking at. Wasn't sure I was gonna smoke the pipe that Ron gave me as a Christmas present, but I did and glad I did cause it is one smoking machine...most likely the LHS that James sent me is probably a smoking machine as well, but it is so beautiful and means so much to me, that for now I'll just admire it. Can I borrow your wife? I’m not sure that came out quite right.
