"American Blends" are typically Burley forward and /or VaBur's with or without Cavendish and / or Perique.
Think OTC's (Carter Hall, Prince Albert, SWR) or C&D blends like Old Joe Krantz and Briar Fox.

Maybe like Kentucky Bird etc..,low cost U.S. tobacco blended/sold in Europe.
