F. Scott Fitzgerald once remarked to Ernest Hemingway... "The rich are very different from you and I" to which Hemingway replied... "Yes, they have more money."

Well, money sure can not buy you health or happiness. Makes me think of Steve McQueen and Patrick Swayze.......May they Rest In Peace.

I'll take experiences over money any day. I get by, me and my children dont go hungry, we have a roof over our heads and a little bit of expendable money. I am content.
I like that response though. Although different, we are also the same.

I am lucky...my wife is a gem...hard to live with... sure...but,who the hell is perfect...no one...compromise is necessary...I learned that after my 2nd.

Money may not buy happiness but with enough of it you can rent it.

All marriages should be open, 50% of divorces are due to the inability of humans to harness hormones, and just because you have a legal document does not mean that you own the person. The wealthy are generally very selfish people who only want more money , and always only want to put their attention and time in making sure their friends in high places, maintain a system that promotes wealth. "THEY ALWAYS NEED A LITTLE MORE"

It could be argued that that's the same thing that causes 50% of marriages.

You always hear about these terrible stories about people who loose everything, family, friends, life...after hitting the lotto. Many scratch their head and ask how and why, I always believed that money just magnifies a persons character.

Can't generalize about wealthy people, I know a couple who are gems of the community, besides employing 100s or thousands of people.

The wealthiest man I knew, washed the dishes at my fishing camp so my wife had a break from cooking. I believe as one forum member pointed out, money brings out your inner character.

I don't think we can generalise about any group of people.

I don't think we can generalise about any group of people. Exactly! I agree generalizing any group is not good. What I left out in my comment which I was thinking and probably should of added is; If your a person of good character and good judgement you'll do positive things with your money, ie..help the less-fortunate, employ many etc... and if your a person of bad character and and bad judgment you'll most likely burn down everything around you. I hope this clarifies my earlier comment.
