Right now it's a beautiful sunny day here in Carolina..Looks like summer time, but it's only 45 degrees.Too cold to sit on the porch and smoke a pipe. When I lived up North I was used to much colder weather and 45 degrees didn't seem that cold..My body has adjusted to the warmer weather here in the South though. Also my bones are almost 25 years older now than they were then and old bones don't like cold very much..It won't be much longer though until I will be sitting on my porch smoking my pipe, watching the birds, and waving at the cars as they go by.

I can somewhat relate to that... Not from a physical or pain point of view, but simply in the fact that I can't wait to be able to sit outside and smoke my pipe.
We get the odd good day in April. I may get out a bit then. May and June tend to be better too. Looking forward to it.

I hate this time of year. I'm just north, in Maryland. It's not quite warm enough to do outside stuff, and it's just warm enough to make you WANT TO BE OUTSIDE. My kids are chomping at the bit to start playing outside, and thus cabin fever sets in. It's supposed to warm up a bit by Sunday, but then back down a bit after that. I guess I can't complain TOO much. At least it's not mowing/whacking/trimming season yet.

Things greening up in Louisville. 50s and 60s for highs on my Weather Channel app for the next two weeks. I only put on about four pounds during the winter this year which I'll shed quickly when the temperatures warm up. I have a newly installed retractable awning over my back deck now for shade this summer. Life is good.

65° and sunny here in central north Florida...beautiful day to sit and smoke a pipe. I keep saying central north Florida because I am reminded of the folks that Hurricane Michael hit...many are still living in tents as their homes were blown away. FEMA pretty much helped pay for cleanup but other than that they are on their own. Can't imagine the suffering and downheartedness the folks must feel...off the front pages of the news and forgotten...here in the USA, meanwhile the midwest is flooding whole towns are disappearing as they are flooded out...people in the same situation...out of homes and out of luck...hell of a thing. I thank God for sparing us this calamity, but I can't but think about their situation...here I sit and complain about a little chill in the air while others are looking for something to eat. I don't have any answers...don't know what I would do...but they are our "neighbors" non the less and here it is soon to be the start of a new year for hurricanes...shudder.

It's so easy to forget that people are still affected by the aftermath of the hurricane. When the cameras stop rolling, the tragedy remains.

After I get back to Thailand I will not smoke indoors any more. I am thankful for that. My wife is too.

Since I smoke in my garage, I am thrilled when the temperature gets over 40. I think my record for smoking this winter was when the temperature finally got up to 25.
