The more of this I smoke, the more I like it. Going to order more and some Match BB1938. I hope the match blend is as good since Dunhill is soon to stop blending.

I never bought it before, but tried a tin after I got word they would no longer be in production. I really enjoyed it. Picked up 11 more tins while it is still around. I'll smoke some, and age the rest for special occasions. Like my other Dunhill tins/jars.

I cry every time I look at my Nightcap jar. However, Cornell and Diehl make some really, really good tobaccos that are a lot cheaper than the old Dunhill selections. It was very unwise for Dunhill to leave the tobacco business. Their tobacco was and always will be their flagship product, and they've abandoned it. The Dunhill marquee is meaningless now. It will fade into obscurity over this century.

He want to give the Match BB1938 a try. It’s under the Hearth & Home blends, the blender is Russ Ouellette.....I’ve yet to smoke a blend that Russ put together that I didn’t enjoy. Examples: WhiteKnight & BlackHouse 👌👍👍

I tried P&C match. Didn't like it. Yup.....some do and some will not smoke it again. Everyone’s palate is different. I’ve tried the H & H match from a sample, I did not run out and order a pound.

Dunhill BB1938 is still available at a lot of online and B&M retailers. It seems to be one of the slower blends to sell out, so buy more while you can.

Dunhill abandoned pipe tobacco many years ago, and it hasn't been made by them either for eons. Abandoned in the sense they did not care to do anything but make expensive tshcotkes (sp) for the carriage trade.
The good news: there are dozens of fine English blends, many made by American firms.

BB 1938 is itself an Orlik homage to a long-dead brand purchased by Dunhill decades ago -- Savory's "Baby's Bottom"
Now BB 1938 is also gone, and people are making matches for a match

My taste buds aren't refined enough to pick out the nuances of individual ingredients so I am hoping that my tongues ignorance will help. Lol

They are totally in the luxury goods business now and will do quite well at that.

Agree with Michael. Dunhill would not have abandoned pipe tobacco if it were a significant part of their revenue. It just wasn't. Interesting that they're still selling pipes and lighters. Shows there is more money in that than tobacco.
