When I moved into the retirement shack last year, two things I liked was my nice 1/3 acre corner lot with a street light. That was a year ago and the street light has never worked. After a year of messing around with the HOA, I finally went to the energy company a couple weeks ago. Their guys were here yesterday, did some tests and determined the line was cut, probably by the developer when the sidewalk was constructed. Along with a passion for spreading falsehoods as easy as he breathes, the builder has been less than trustworthy. The President of the HOA, an attorney and the energy company guys are coming next week to discuss options. I wrote them all this morning and told them I want a cash bond or revocable letter of credit from the builder to repair all damage before a shovel is turned on my property. Should be a fun spring.

Our property shares the light from a pole on another property....when that light is out for some reason, it is pitch black and you can't see your hand in front of your face. Fortunately, the power company, which is privately owned by the city, will come out and fix whatever is wrong. Doesn't happen often enough to really be a problem. We take that light for granted mostly, giving us enough light to see that all is well on both properties.

Had the Utility company put a Security light on the West side of my barn , tractor thieves in our area, it’s very high and catches half of my property, just installed Motion Sensor LED light for the other half, those LED lights are something else, old style flood lamps ain’t nothing compared to these.

There's very few, if any, street lights around here as we are a designated "Dark Sky" city.
Good luck with those bureaucrats this Spring!

Ought to do the same as in the "old West" with horse and cattle thieves...hang 'em...couple of those and you'd see a drastic reduction in "legs on tractors"

You're just right!!
