This is the South Jetty at Sebastian Inlet facing due East. If you could see really far the first thing you’d see is the Canary Islands. This is where I fish for snook. I climb out to the very point and cast heavy jigs into the ripping current. Went fishing last night for the first time in a while. The jacks and blues ate the tails off my jigs, but no snook. Not a good place to smoke a pipe. The end of the jetty is very wet. The conditions pictured are quite calm; the best fishing is when it is rough. The North Jetty that can be seen on the left side of the picture would be a good place to smoke a pipe. It’s a lot higher with a wide concrete pier. There is even a restaurant with a deck. The North Jetty is posh, the South Jetty is for rough necks. A note on the picture, as the panoramic view makes the directions wonky. You can see the way the hand rail bends. The left hand side of the picture with the two fishermen is facing due East, while the right side of the picture faces due South straight down the beach.

That looks like a lot of fun. What type of heavy jigs do you use to catch Snook in those waters?
I was looking-up the fish for some background, and didn't know they can get upto 29 - 30 lbs. Hefty fish!

Hefty fish! I like 2oz of weight, either bucktail or grubtail. You need at least 2oz to get down to the bottom with that current, anything lighter stays up to high and the "trash" species (jack crevalle, ladyfish, bluefish) tear them up.
Yes the big girls get 30# easy. My best is probably 15#. But there is a 'slot' limit: only one fish between 28" and 32" per day.

I googled "snook" and this came up at the top of the search results. Fish? What fish?

There is a reason that one is at the top of the view list, Walkman.

I did not see her there and I think I would have noticed.
That was a short snook or what I like to call a 'sneek' as in you better sneek that fish back home before the FWC man catches you.

Yesterday evening I was able to land a 30" keeper... it's not all just sight-seeing out here...
