The wife and I have never really been coupon clippers, but if irresistible offers come our way, we are not going to turn them down.
We shop primarily at Albertson's, along with the just4 U app, and the monopoly game going on, we have really gotten some great deals.
With the App, you click on the deals and when you use your loyalty number...cell phone, it automatically offers the discount at checkout.
Boneless, skinless Chicken breasts for .99 per pound earlier this week.
Also, bone in pork chops were marked down to $1.49 per pound, but with the app....49 cents per pound...between the wife's app and mine we got 20 pounds of pork chops for $10.
With the monopoly game, we have gotten all kinds of free products to the point, we do not want to redeem the tickets until we use up what we have...it has come in handy as a local guy I know has a spiral fracture taking him off work...we were able to load his freezer and cereals in the cupboard for the kids for chump change.
I recently spoke to a Kroger (Fry's grocery stores in the Southwest) driver at a stop a week or so ago...when we moved here, fry's was about the cheapest, but I think Albertson's has their sights on them.

It pays to play the coupon game. Sometimes it's hard work, but there are savings to be had.
It appears there are better savings in your neck of the woods though.

Since I was forced into retirement I “ live “ on coupon shopping. Especially on deals with local restaurants. I enjoyed my career, did not see this coming with my sudden illness. My medical co payments eat up a large portion of my monthly income. Never in my life did I have financial issues until becoming disabled. A large chunk of money I saved over the course of many years is being spent on medical bills. I’m now on 14 different medications, one has a co-payment of $148.55 a month.....it’s not on my carriers formula. Nor on any others, I’ve checked them all. According to Medicare I have excellent coverage...A,B,C and D. It’s ever sine the Obama care went into effect. Many others have the same complaints.
PS That’s extremely kind of you to help a local friend 👍👍👌

I use some coupons here and there. But, that app your using seems like a whole other level of great savings. We don't have Albertson's stores around here anymore, unfortunately. But, good for you for helping your injured friend in his time of need. May the blessings come back to you tenfold.

Really, it didn’t cause a blip on the radar screen... no sacrifice on my part, the system just played out beneficially.
Chivas Regal was only $15 for a 750 ml bottle the other day... I am paying less for groceries than when raising kids... far less per capita.

We are for the most part Kroger shoppers they have a online app for instore coupons that saves a few dollars. For canned goods the 99cent store cant be beat. The most expensive store in our area is Wallyworld go figure. It is cheaper to drive past our nearest Kroger and drive to another one that is not only cleaner but has better prices. One last tip if you know what you want after visiting the store buy online and pickup in store works for TV's, office chairs and things like that.

I'm all for saving money, but I look at my life in terms of time. I only have X amount of time, which is worth more than anything else. If I have to spend an hour clipping coupons or some other time-consuming activity, I'd rather just pay the price and call it good.
YMMV

Except all those little savings add up allowing us poor folks to enjoy other things. When I still worked I didn't care what things cost. Having to retire early has forced me to take a good hard look.YMMV

Now, my mileage does not vary......lol.

Sounds like we are all in the same small boat.

WE have an Albertson's market in Taos. I divide my shopping between them and Smith's (Kroeger). The first Wednesday of each month Albertson's has a Senior Discount of 10 per cent which I appreciate. Being that the store is a 90 mile round trip for me, I try to load up so the discount has some meaning.

What is a newspaper? Got pistachios last month for 2.50 for a 8oz bag that's like 5 dollars off and they ran one brand for a while and then another one. Grabbed five 12can cases of soda for 2.50 a box. With Kroger you get fuel points nothing like 60 cents off gas once a month. So it adds up and we can have a nice dinner someplace that does not have a giant sign in the sky.

Every...dime...counts. Kroger man here. "Green meat" section rocks, coupons are great and fuel points are an additional positive.
