The Cramptholomew (stamped "JB") is getting a fill of Esoterica Dunbar for this evening's smoke... the precision of Cramp's stem work is amazing... very precise... have him make one for you... you won't regret it. Peet's espresso. Cool water. Evening news.

Joe, I was sitting on the back deck enjoying a bowl of Carter Hall along with you. Had no internet for about 2 hours due to a local vehicle accident verses a telephone pole.
Now going to enjoy..............

Jim has some good meals, I'm more jealous of the desserts. For our second date, m'lady made me a triple chocolate cake. I said, "This is great. Can you cook?" She said, "I make great desserts." I said, "I know that, but can you cook?" She said, "I make great desserts." That was true then and even more so now.
I used to run a restaurant and taught m'lady how to cook. She's turned out to be an infinitely better cook than I ever thought of being. Her hobby is to cook, and my hobby is to eat.

Jim, I want to eat vicariously through you for a week, you enjoy some solid meals my man. The mug eats and smokes like a king. I told him the other day he'd better be taking good care of his missus... he assured me he was. I truly did marry a great lady.

July 2 will be our 30th wedding anniversary. If you are a Facebook friend of mine, you can see the pics we took of our 25th, which was a tour of several MLB baseball parks and American Revolution sites. M'lady planned the entire vacation as a surprise to me. There's a couple funny stories about at, but it's too long to type, so you'll have to call me sometime to hear the story.

Almost half way through this bowl of Watch City Simply Red in a 1980s White Pipe straight, smooth octagonal paneled billiard meerschaum with an acrylic yellow cream colored saddle stem. Taking a work break to watch the ball game I've been listening to.

My fathers greatest pleasure in life was to eat so it was fortunate that mother was an excellent cook. Every night we had dessert. Nothing like warm ginger cake with custard or sticky-date pudding & vanilla ice cream, or any of her wonderful creations. When I first hooked up with my future wife, all I needed to hear was that she thought that microwaves were wonderful inventions for me to be the cook for the next 15 years. Never did get any of my mothers dessert recipes or the missus would also have expected dessert every night.

First bowl of the day is Formers Birds Eye Flake in a Dr Grabow Riviera.
The Riviera has a stinger which I think are good in theory but most impede airflow. The stinger in the Riviera actually works & is the first stinger that hasn't been relegated to the parts drawer.
Although it's a great smoker, it gets really wet when I smoke a full bowl, particularly with the stinger in place. No other of my pipes gets so wet. Might have to consider ditching the stinger for a charcoal filter.
