Help!
I have a Bonnie Brier Matterhorn pipe and the stem simply won't come out. I have put it in the freezer over night, I have tried gentle heat, and I have aped on it. I don't want to break it because it is a beautiful pipe (somehow it seems they are all beautiful though). I don't remember when I bought it and I don't know if I ever even smoked it but I would think if it were always like this, I would remember it because it's driving me crazy now.
Any thoughts?

Wow, sounds like your stem is really stock. Usually the freezer method works, and in most cases 30-45 mins is all that is needed. If this is a treasured pipe and you don't mine spending some money on it I would highly recommend calling Ric at Briarville and have him take a look at it. Link: briarville.com/Best of luck!

Not knowing how much the pipe is worth it's hard to decide what to do with it. I would hate to break it and then find out it was worth something. On the other hand if it's a $15 pipe, and nothing special, do I want to send it off to be fixed?

If the pipe is special to you i.e it was a gift or has a special memory connected to it or you are just have a connection to it have the stem professionally removed and/or, if it turns out to be a valuable pipe at the least have it looked at. If it's just a $15 pipe and and no emotional connection to it and the stem breaks your only out a $15 pipe. Or you can just smoke it just the way it is. Clean it up and off the the races you go.

Wow, by the looks of it I would have it professionally removed. That is a vey nice looking pipe! Thanks for sharing! Like I mentioned give Ric a call at Briarville, stem repairs start around $14.00, well worth it in IMHO. Good luck, and sweet pipe you have there.

I have tried putting it on the floor register for 15 minutes, I have tried the freezer for 20 minutes, 2 hours, and overnight. I am now going to try a slow gentle warm up with a hair dryer and if that doesn't do it, I will probably just smoke it.
Is it possible that this pipe isn't designed to come apart?
Does anyone know a rough value on this pipe?

Will the stem even rotate a touch?
Regardless, I'd smoke 3-4 bowls back to back and then try it.

It acts as if it has been superglued in!
Thank you to the people who mentioned Briarville! I called Ric and he told me what he would do, and if I break it, he will fix it.
I am patiently working on it and regardless of what happens from here, it's awesome to find people who provide that type of service!

Their decent smokers, bringing $10.00 - $20.00 on eBay. I have owned one and another member, Zach has one in his rotation.

In my refurb efforts...I've had pipes come through which have actually been super-glued.
