After purchasing a Peterson Sherlock Holmes Squire Rustic PLIP; I have gotten a terrible case of PAD to purchase another PLIP. I love the beef and feel of my beloved Squire, but would like another pipe with a bit more bowl height and depth. I have 4 pipes from which I would like to purchase 1. As always, purchasing online always has a bit of the unknown involved. So I was wondering if I could get some feedback as to the 'heft' (fills the hand- at 6' 4" and 280, with large hands, makes a difference to me) and feel of these pipes, from those that know. I'm looking for something that is like my Squire PLIP, but maybe a bit larger bowl. I also love the fit and feel of my Savinelli 616 KS Roma. So something a bit larger than my Squire and up to the size of my 616 KS. The 4 pipes I am thinking about are:
Peterson System Standard smooth B42
Peterson Kinsale XL24 Rustic PLIP (pretty much like the Sherlock Holmes Milverton Rustic - which isn't available now)
Peterson Kinsale XL28 Rustic PLIP ( an estate pipe that is similar to Sherlock Holmes Moran)
Peterson Sherlock Holmes Professor Rustic PLIP
They are all within about $15 in price, so that is not an issue. Though I can only afford 1 . . . for now. Wondering about these shapes, and the relative quality between Kinsale, Sherlock Holmes and the System Standard.
Your recommendation/thoughts/ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks all!

Kinsale is a good choice. They are beefy in XL form. I have a 16XL. Deep bowl, long smokes. Kinsale is also the price point where Peterson's get a little better.

I have an Aran XL02 and it's nice and hefty. I'm not even remotely an expert, but of your list I like the Sherlock and the Standard best. But only because they're the most Peterson-y looking shapes to my eye.

I am new to this site but at 80+ years and a pipe smoker for about 66 of those years I have to chime in on this one.
I have a lot of pipes including about a dozen Peterson pipes. I have a smooth B 42 Plip that is such an incredible smoking pipe I had to order another in a rustic finish. It clenches beautifully even though it is definitely a big pipe. It never over heats even though I am sometimes not a very disciplined puffer. Requires very little maintenance unless I am smoking something like BCA which can generate some moisture. My usual Burley leave no moisture at all.
I can highly recommend the Peterson B42.

You want a Wellington Jumbo. It's a copy of the Peterson system but it is in the "House Pipe" size range or larger. I picked up an unsmoked one from the 50s last year and I love it. It smokes just like a Peterson, Plip and all. I rarely smoke it because of the size and the other dozen or so Petersons in the cabinet.

I recently got a Standard system 312 in the sandlasted finish and I like it's impressive size.

I second RonV69's comment about the Wellington. I've never had one and so do not know how is smokes but I do know there are many available and they are not expensive.

They smoke exactly like a Peterson System Standard, but not quite as well as a System Deluxe. I don't know if they will last as long as a Peterson, (several lifetimes), but they are almost exact copies.

I have never tried a Peterson I do have a WDC but it is not a system instead it had a inner tube setup. At some point I will try a system but that falls into my gimmick pipe like those with stingers category.
