I don't know about that Scrooge guy? He lives at the North Pole with his reindeer and elves but comes down the chimney year round.

Another nice act of benevolence, James! Well done...
Brad, them analog hygrometers are notoriously inaccurate, at least that is what I found out... the small battery operated ones from P&C that sit inside the box do a much better job.

Yes I did, I also bought a digital humity guage, being in Louisiana humidity is not a factor, after 24 hrs it was 77%, put 2 gyro gel sticks, and loaded your amazing stash in it and it's now 75%, smoking the one in the tin holder now on porch, I'm gonna like this. Thanks Fellas

What a guy. Enjoy them! You have a great start there. As far as good smokes at a good price, you cannot beat the Padron or Fuente brands. There are so many good ones to pick from. As your cigar tastes develop, you will find what you like in a cigar and then can select around that. Again, enjoy them! ExChef

Good start. Padron 3000 was the first cigar I had that had me going "ok, now I get this cigar thing". It is still one of my favorites to this day.
I also started with a similar humidor. While effective, keep a close eye on your humidity levels as those things are not the most air tight. Boveda packs are the right choice too so that will give you some security that your sticks are at a safe level.

I hope you enjoy your new passion Brad. It is a very relaxing hobby and one to be enjoyed alone while watching the world pass by or with friends while sharing lies about hunting and fishing.

Enjoy the cigars oldcajun. I tend to smoke more of those in the summer and less in the winter. I have a small humidor but my problem here in the interior of California is that it is so dry out I can never get my humidity levels above 67-70. I've started using Boveda packets for humidification, so we'll see if they improve the situation at all.

I'm a little fond of cigars, and humidors, myself OC... My setup is not quite as impressive. I only have a Pelican 1640 with cedar boxes, couple shelves I snagged from an old chest humidor that leaked like a sieve. But I will say as far as RH it's bulletproof. I feed it a touch of distilled maybe 2x a year and it's rock solid. Which reminds me, been a few months since i'd bothered to check the thermohygrometer, suppose I should take a look. ExChef
