Yes, Spring is Springing here in NYC, 55 and sunny with light breeze. Sunday mornings are the best, I can actually here birds chirping all the way up on the 22nd fl! I might enjoy an early afternoon pipe also!
Good Smokes!!

Shaping up to be a beautiful day here on Long Island too. Low 50's already and nothing but sun and blue skies. Getting my yard ready for the summer between puffs. Feels good to be outside.

Spring has started here, sort of. Trees just beginning to form buds, some green grass starting to push up, and I am gathering workers for cleaning five miles of irrigation ditches.

Glad to see the snowbirds drifting back to where they belong, glad to see our springtime friends building their families...I dropped Directv years ago, but the birds really like coming to it every year.

Eggs!!! Gonna be some babies soon...great to watch them hatch out and become part of life's cycle...got some Cardinals that come back to the same azaleas every year...watched the newborns hatch out and follow mom and dad as they were teaching them where to go to get food and water...year after year...so nice to have that to look forward to.

I always wondered if these are the same parents every year...when I lived in California, I had White owls that raised a family every year I lived there...it was great watching them at night, clicking away as they searched for prey. One night while on the deck my wife was standing at the railing, and one of them swooped down looking for something on the ground...swooped back up, and hovered face to face with the wife for a few seconds...6 foot wing span and all. Cardinals are pretty cool looking birds, I wish they were around here and some of the midwestern birds I grew up around.

We've got a return Cardinal from last year and he was in the tree by the patio singing to me on Thursday. The Mourning Doves have also returned and are so used to the dogs that they will fly right down next to them in the yard. Not as many Quail this year and I suspect the loose kitties around here are to blame.

Good to hear Darin! The only Cardinals I have seen down here in the valley wear Jerseys, because if they didn't over the last few years, they would look like this. Larry Fitzgerald is the exception

Got up to 80 yesterday, 85 today and is supposed to hit 89/90 tomorrow. Spring lasts about two weeks here then we head to early summer. We have hit 100 some years in May. Don't come to Texas if you don't like heat !

It was nice being in NC over the weekend with everything popping down there and then come home to the land of the dead. It's going to take a couple weeks but things will start popping up here. My lawn is the only one in the neighborhood that is green and my Tiger and Day lillies are coming up and I have Robins out the wazoo with two nests on my house so spring is finally here and looking forward to summer.

Charlie girl looks to be a sweet lady!! Bet she is a sweetheart! She is the sweetest but we are struggling with her being aggressive to certain people. I tell my wife she is just a good judge of character :-). We don't have to worry about her around kids as she loves almost every kid ( a few warranted character judgments aside). We thought it was just men, but once she lashed out at a neighbor lady who came in our front door. Part of it is my wife's tension around her when anyone comes over as she doesn't do it nearly as much if I am around. She is a hell of of a dog though. Shelter dog. Got her at 9 months (thought she was a year and a half). Instantly potty trained. Smart as a whip. Will let my daughter and her friends dress her up and lay all over her. Great with our cat (the cat is another story). And I truly believe if anyone ever broke in our house she would take an arm off. And she is a total Daddy's girl. Someone could be hand feeding her a rotisserie chicken (her favorite) but if I walk in the door she is a wiggly mess at my feet for 20 minutes.

Also, the worst thing about spring popping is the first couple grass cuts. Its just walking around the yard looking for tall patches. Mow a little here, then over there, then back there. Kind of like shaving my head. Drives me bonkers. I like a good methodical mowing where you can clearly see where you have cut.

45, clear at present but rain on the way. In our area, wise move to not put all snow shovels to cellar till damn near May 1! We know better. A few crocus starting to pop up as for 2 straight days...near 70. This is Western NY..'nuff said

Always nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy a pipe after a long winter, it certainly amplifies the serenity and enjoyment.
Great pics!

We had several inches of snow yesterday. I had already stashed away my snow shovels.
Snow is definitely a four letter word now.
