Mike Murphy interviewed me for his latest podcast about comics and pipe tobacco, but entirely ducked the subject of world domination. Oh well... perhaps next time! Hope you'll tune in a listen. I haven't even heard it yet.

Mike Murphy has a really good podcast, he is right up there with PM and Country Squire. He hasn't been a pipe smoker for a long time and doesn't pretend to have all the answers by using the WAG method of dispensing information, but he has a natural talent for what he is doing. I was suppose to meet him in Vegas last year but a death in the family changed that, so hopefully I can meet him in November. Jim is fun to talk to, so I expect it to be pretty good!

I enjoyed listening to your interview today, JimInks . Loved both the comics and pipes & tobacco discussions. I'm a history buff too.

...Jim is actually a large fried egg himself... he's from a distant planet of large fried eggs seeking world domination...

I have to admit, I dont quite get Mike Murphy's modus operandi with the Pipe and Tamper podcast. He doesn't actually smoke a pipe anymore. He starts his podcast with "housecleaning" and reading positive reviews, then goes on to read a specific tobacco review page from tobaccoreviews dot com, then interviews a guest. I think he used to smoke a pipe as I remember that he would assign a star rating of his own to tobaccos. I guess it just doesn't add up to me to produce a podcast for a hobby that one does not partake in, but I listen to it anyway.
That said, Jim, your interview was great and provided a lot of insight on your review process, tobacco expertise, and knowledge of comic art history. I think you were one of his best guests.

Did he say he stopped smoking a pipe? On Monday he posted a FB pic of him smoking a calabash.

Thanks for the kind words. It was fun to do. I wasn't aware he didn't smoke a pipe any more. He did ask a fair amount of good questions, though. Mike told me that we set a record for first day downloads by several hundred hits. I was pleased by that.

I heard from Mike Murphy, who was informed of your comment by somebody (not me), and he messaged me to correct the record on this. Mike still smokes pipes.

I understand Jim has had a good month financially and with the interview felt he should give back to the piping world. He went and hired a part timer to assist him with preparing this weeks smokes.
