Came across this thinking that maybe some of you hadn't seen it. No idea what country, or what the car is, but what a great photo! edit: I found out what the car was by looking at the bottom of this photo. (duh) Brutsch Mopetta, made in Germany between 1956 and 1958, all 14 of them. Now, what kind of pipe is this dapper chap smoking?

I remember seeing one in Miami, Fl. back when I was a kid...thought it was cool, just like a car that was also a boat...had propellers in the back...those were adventurous years.

My German friend says she's seen them with 4 wheels but not 3

I could see Donald Duck in something like that, but if my trailer busted loose a recap next to that, it would be more like Wile E Coyote with a crate of dynamite.
Cute little car, but I see too many boneheads on the road to comfortably drive something like that.

A Butz-Choquin billiard?

Yeah Mac, it could be a billiard, but because I don't see much taper of the shank and stem, I was leaning more towards a Canadian - lumberman shape. It doesn't seem to have much of a sheen to it, so maybe a sandblast or rusticated finish. No way to know for sure, but I was just ruminating on it. Not sure I'd be smoking a pipe in an open car to begin with.

I normally gravitate towards bent or half-bent pipes, but that pic is so cool it's given me a new appreciation for straight pipes.
