G'Day, a little pocket knife on my wishlist for plug cutting, from www.Sheffieldknives.co.uk , old Sheffield cutlers, of the old meisters, using Sheffield steel, I have a small collection of their traditional knives, they have fine Bowies & Dirks & Sgian Dubhs. I get the annual Knife book from the States, full of the latest art & craft knives, & modern steels, often favouring the Japanese tradition & Damascus steel, very pretty some of them, but a tool is a tool , whether a rusty nail, or a William Turner table cutlery set, no beauty in war....or bloody silken sword bullpoo....pax

That's a beautiful knife, Stan. I've taken a different approach to cutting my plugs. Now I use an Alaskan Ulu knife which give me perfect thin flakes. Plus is looks really cool.

Hi, these are what I use presently sometimes, a US Flexcut Jack knife, that holds a sharp edges, I use for whittling wood , mainly knotty pine at present, I hone it with a leather strop & wax or a Gerber folding utility blade , with a replaceable blade., bye.

Hi, your son is a talented knife maker, I always have ideas to make things , I looked into forging blades & Damascus & putting handles on bought blades & making sheaths, but only pipe dreams over here, the Sheffield knives do bare blades, Bowies & Dirks to fit your own handles, I like Devlin Thomas (?) in the States, an artist in Damascus forging. Bye.
