Don, Charlie, Peter, myself and a few others who have been here from the beginning could care less about post counts. Perhaps I'm mistaken but don't believe it was the reason any of us joined. That first year we were all just talking to each other was the best. I trust anything these guys wish to state.
My suggestion is that date joining the forum should be posted instead of number of posts. I'd like to hear what everybody else thinks about this one?

Post count? What's a post count?
I'd rather know how long someone was a member than how many posts they have.

Good point, Mark, re the date joined. A lot of people get a kick of the post count. I'll ask Justin about the joining date.

Join date is a good idea. Says as much, minus all the digits.

Hell with the public post count!
I took almost a year to hit 100 posts, I figure I’ll be on the patch for years to come where I may end up with as many posts as some of you old codgers! 🤪🤣😉
But I’m not sure it’s really that important for the group to know or see.

While I don't care whether or not the post counts show, I'd agree that the "join date" would be a good addition.

Post count is useful up to a point - like new members are supposed to have a minimum of 100, I think, before be able to buy/sell/trade. But it means nothing to me that truculentfrogs has 4,360 and I only have 1,836 or whatever. It's not a contest.
I should also add that part of the catalyst for the implosion and mass banning/migration from the old PSF to the Patch was an argument about post counts!
If you really care about your post count, there's an easy solution - just post more.

Makes no difference to me, either...join date is OK also...again makes no difference that I can tell.

Post count is of no interest to me. I pay no attention to it and barely notice. If it is kept hidden, fine by me.
I sure enjoy this forum and all the people on it, I mean that regardless of race, creed, planet of origin, number of digits, or chemical composition.

Does someone actually care about their post count on an internet pipe forum? That would be weird. But, then again, the world is weird. I say remove it if it's causing trouble. I can't imagine WHY it would cause trouble, though. Again, that's weird.

I dunno...I just noticed I have roughly twice the post count as Mark...hard for me to give up the street cred I have built up. Seriously, I would be fine either way, but Chico brings up a good point about being on here long enough to make a sale, and the mods have enough to do without verifying post counts on each sell thread. I guess that if I didn't have a life, I would be complaining about other people's post counts.

I get using post counts when it comes to sales and trades.
Aside from that, caring about post counts is like caring about how many follow you on social media.

A simple underlining beneath the members handle, could be used to signify a post count over 100 (as regards the buy/sell trade/ privilege).

I've been watching these threads over the past hour. I agree that there is no place for bullying but I have not seen any of that. I can't speak about what was sent in PM form because I don't see them nor should I. If a member wishes to disclose a private conversation that is his prerogative but we get only one side. So, in the interest of getting back to the business of discussing pipe matters I am closing this thread and the others related to the subject. If anyone has an issue here I ask that you contact Andre (Legend Lover) or me. We will keep your communication only among ourselves and try our best to resolve any and all concerns.
