I am normally not a PAD person, but with a full cellar moving to pipes seems natural.
have been watching several @pipenook videos. Eddie is big on filters, and I am seeing the light. The idea of a MapleRock Filter seemed a pretty ginchy idea.
I got a totally inexpensive Rhodesian and baptized it with SWR. Five Bros would be better for breaking in, but Xuan thought it was a pouch of my hair and locked it in her little safe. This was an extremely cool smoke. The pipe was bigger than I figured, in a good way. It will not be the last Brigham in my collection.
I didn't intend a big review, but since I have not seen any threads on this I thought I would bring it up and spark a discussion.

David, I don't have a Brigham but I do own 3 by Phillip Trypis who worked for and them and eventually made his own line. All great smokers, no filters on mine ... it's the top three:

Was it the pipe, the filter, or a combination of the two, @cosmicbobo?

I have two Brigham pipes and they are pretty decent smokers. I hate the long tenon, but am loath to shorten it. I don't use filters so I don't need it, but I don't like the idea of changing the build of a pipe.

It really is a combo of pipe and filter that did it. The pipes are as solid as a Babe Ruth Bat. It's a perfect hold or clench pipe.
The filters are unobtrusive with a clear pass-through that you can run a cleaner through, so, in one way it's only narrowing your draw, as an adapter would, but the Maple Rock takes it to a slightly different dimension.

I have been intrigued by the Brigham filter system, but not enough to pull the trigger on one - yet. But I do find value in filters for the right application, and the Maple Rock is certainly interesting. I am considering one next time there is a big pipe sale somewhere.
