Hope I'm not getting too religious here, but today is Palm Sunday and this day always brings to my mind a poem by G. K. Chesterton entitled The Donkey.
When fishes flew and forests walked
And figs grew upon thorn
Some moment when the moon was blood
Then surely I was born.
With monstrous head and sickening cry
And ears like errant wings
The devil’s walking parody
On all four-footed things.
The tattered outlaw of the earth,
Of ancient crooked will;
Starve, scourge, deride me: I am dumb,
I keep my secret still.
Fools! For I also had my hour;
One far fierce hour and sweet:
There was a shout about my ears,
And palms before my feet.
Hope all the Patchers have wonderful day, hopefully while enjoying a bowl or two (or more) of some of your favorite tobaccos in your favorite pipes.

Thanks for the poem, Tom...interesting...the interpretation of that.
Also, hope all Patchers are doing well and having a pleasant evening while having a pleasant smoke.

Thank you Tom. Personally, it was a wonderful day at the beginning of a busy and contemplative week.

Sacred or secular, poetry is always appropriate. It's a language that is almost lost. Thank you, Tom.
