I find it easy to pair blends with brown ales, Porters and Stouts: but nothing is really clicking as to what to try with a good IPA. I was wondering if GH Ennerdale Flake might work? The sweet floral might be brought out more in contrast to the bitterness of the IPA?

I would suggest VaPers or sweet Virginias. The hops really compliment Virginias very well.

I'm with Embers to a point.
My rule of thumb is to pair tobacco with brews in contrast. I know people like to take the same approach as with wine and food- For instance: English and Islay scotch because both are rich, bold and smoky. For me I like to taste each separately, so I like VA blends with stouts, earthy, rich Burley blends with IPAs, and English with a clean lager. Aromatics are best with strong, unsweetened tea.
What it comes down to is your palate. The best advice I can give (should I be so bold) is keep drinking and keep smoking. Haha Eventually nature will take over and you'll make the connections that work for you.

I like Stonehaven with IPAs. Trying to reconcile 2 varied tastes that I love is near magical.

Many will throw rotton tomatoes at me for this pairing suggestion with an IPA, but I'll risk it... Dunhill Royal Yacht. I sayeth no more.

Sorry, I can’t help much with this question. I’m not much of a beer drinker......once in a while I’ll have a Blue Moon with a huge piece of orange....this beer was actually recommended by a doctor......he stated something about the Belgian White and citrus acid helps clean out the urinary track. He must be onto something, since I have two or three a week I’ve yet to suffer a UTI from two of my meds. The other beer I enjoy is from a local brewery located in Clayton, NC.....Deep River brewing Company......their 4042. Now sold at Lowe’s Foods in aluminum cans. I hate to admit......when I lived in Europe and owned a restaurant & bar I did partake in Guinness Stout.......Deep Rivers 4042 in my opinion is about two notches above with that hint of chocolate in the background. It’s definitely on the heavy side like Guinness......but heavier with a tad more taste to the palate. ANY BEER DRINKER FROM NC HAVE THE PLEASURE OF TRYING 4042?? If you care to learn more about this very special brew 4042.......read up........ deepriverbrewing.com/

I don't know, I am in disagreement with people who contrast IPA's and blends. I think it's better to pair IPA's and blends that are in agreement. Floral with floral. Citrusy, with citrusy. Piney, with piney, etc.
For some reason, I am going blank on great pairings, however. I will repost when i remember some great IPA and blend parings, however.

Thought of one (some?). Most any Northeastern (or New England IPA's) are good with Peterson Signature Flake. Both have a citrusy aspect to them, IMO. There are others, but that's a start.....

I’m a big fan of IPA’s and VaPer’s or straight VA’s! I especially like Ne IPAs. A couple of go-to smokes are St James Flake, Escudo, Dorchester. A really good pair with a super juicy NEIPA is Esoterica Cardiff. It has a topping on it that reminds me of orange creamsicle. FVF, and Germain’s Rich Dark are great too! For a cheap, readily available tobacco, it’s tough to beat Orlik Orange Slice. It too has a sort of orangey topping to it, and it pairs wonderfully with an IPA.

The sweet floral might be brought out more in contrast to the bitterness of the IPA? I recently bought a tin of Ennerdale with this same exact thought in mind. I might have to give that a try tonight. I’ve never had Ennerdale, but I am very curious.

I don't think anything pairs well with an IPA. The beer is just too overwhelming to dovetail nicely with tobacco.
