When you stand on an assembly hour after hour and do the same thing to a different car every minute you learn to coordinate your movements and reduce lost motion..I took a pipe and a a cup of coffee on the porch today.Across the street 2 guys were roofing a house.The were walking around 30 feet in the air like a couple of mountain goats..Same coordinated movements as in the factory..I just smiled as I watched them..Roofing is not something I would ever do but I Really admired how much these 2 guys worked as a team.They really had it together..They did a beautiful job.

Watching professional at their work is like watching a ballet...no lost motion, every movements with purpose. I have a "handyman" which is really the wrong term for him...everything he does from carpentry to laying vinyl, to painting...every movement has a reason and nothing in the way of time or materials are wasted.

With warm weather moving in, roof work is inevitable for me. It seems that I've been on at least 2 roof's every summer for the past 10 years. It's hot up there!
2 guys that work together that know what they're doing can get A LOT done and make it look easy. It's how me and my old boss were. The problem was we are both alcoholics and that got in the way more times than not.
The 2 guys I work with now, I would have fired 2 years ago if I was the boss. It makes me crazy at times and our work is no where near graceful or timely.
