I am not beating my own drum here (1/2 of my posts are WAYS), but frequent posting, or better yet, new thread posting gives the site new content and something to respond to. This seemed to be the big complaint and frankly, I found it somewhat baffling. It is a public forum and not the domain of a few.

I am at a loss to understand why anyone would object to frequents posts. This forum consists of neighborly "talk" on a range of subjects. I certainly appreciate reading the many subjects and issues posted here and keeping up with the well being of members of this community. I would not change a thing and appreciate the efforts of a special few to keep this forum going.

Thanks for setting the record straight on this issue, sparks , and thanks to papipeguy and Legend Lover for quickly resolving the matter. Anyone who has limited their posting due to this event (e.g., peterd-Buffalo Spirit , Legend Lover , etc), please come on back and participate like before. I enjoy this community immensely and appreciate the posts of each and every one of you!

I agree with all of the above. This kind of "activity" described by Sparks runs rampant through our society. You stop it by doing what many of us did, support the person who is being unjustly treated, point out how wrong the perp-i-TRAITORS are and refuse to tolerate such behavior. I think as a group, we handled the situation and thank goodness did not lose a valued member here. As to those who launched such a vile attack, that not only beat up on a great guy, but also attempted to taint the character of another member, they should do some soul searching. Why would you do such a thing? Shame. Shame. Thanks for your righteous anger and cogent post, Justin. HUGE +1 to this

More than thanking Justin aka Sparks for his response to the last debacle here on the Patch, to the 27 members of the Patch that sent me extremely positive PM’s and those responding to this thread. ....I thank you for your support. I’ve met some wonderful people since being a member of the Patch, I’m moving forward and will not add any further comment to this thread other than THANK YOU ALL and.................. Peter, now that all has been rectified in a proper manner, I truly hope real soon to see you posting once again here on the Patch. Your not only missed by me enormously, your missed by many members that have the same respect for the person you are, your a kind and gentle person that has much to offer here on the Patch.......especially to me.......more than words can describe. Ah, so you're the culprit? Lol. As a newbie I read a lot when I join a new forum to get a feel for the place, yet I had no clue as to who the whiners were referring to. If their complaint was legitimate I figured they were whinging about the type who responds to nearly every post with comments like 'Agree' for example just to raise their post count. I've enjoyed your comments that I've read so far so I'm glad that the miserable creatures haven't affected your style. It is contributors like yourself who help keep forums alive & interesting so keep up the good work.

Ted is a gem, made me feel like family from the start. He’s a thoughtful, kind and giving brother. Not saying that he would’ve deserved that had he not had all these qualities but man, they picked the wrong fella here. I don’t know the last time I’ve read one of Ted’s posts and not wished I lived closer to him so we can get together. Although I may be headed to NC in July.......

Glad to see this addressed. I was pretty surprised that the mod response to the couple threads regarding this (when they were locked) amounted to "well, it's "he said / he said, we can't know for sure what transpired...". I mean, with server logs etc., there's no such thing as private comms on an internet forum. Glad the goofballs who started this are receiving the shaming they deserve. Too bad it's anonymous .

I'm glad this problem of bullying has been addressed. But... For the record elric , I can't speak for the others who were unhappy with your post - but no, I did not join in the lonecoyote witch-hunt. Nor did I "pile on top of you", nor were my "fragile sensibilities" hurt. I simply let you know that you were breaking the rules of the forum by making a politically divisive, deliberately insulting comment in referring to "Leftards." I would have said the same if you'd used a term like "Wingnut." In reality, I'm the one who was personally and publicly attacked when Reagan-in-shining armour rode in to your defense, distorted what I had written, had one of his anti-Chico meltdowns, and blew up the thread so that it was shut down then removed. Which has happened before. ....which I guess is okay? Dear oh dear (where's a 'face-palm' thingy when I need one?) Trying to get another thread closed for no other reason than you love to hear the sound of your own voice? Out of respect for the rules I'll refrain from speaking my mind and for fear of provoking more unnecessary unpleasantness. Let's just say that we both know that I only needed to be reminded of the rules ONCE but you just couldn't help adding your outrage to the pile of wounded social-justice-warriors sensitivities. Your superfluous justification reminds me of that line from Hamlet "The lady doth protest too much, methinks." Okay time to step away everyone and take a deep breath....

This has been a very “ positive “ thread, for that I thank all who were part of it. I’m moving forward with the hope that everyone else does as well with no negativity. We ALL need to think before we post, I’m happy to be part of this community. Let’s keep the Patch moving in the right direction. I have no animosity towards any member, both present or past........so, full speed forward from this point.

Would like to clear something up here. We DO NOT have access to peoples PM’s. The only way we can be sure what was said in a PM is if someone sends us the text. I have never wanted, nor do I ever want to be able to read peoples private exchanges with other members. This is what often puts us in the spot of saying he said she said. If we don’t see it, it’s hard to moderate.

I can't say it better than PeterD-Buffalo Spirit has said...I am here to support the Patch and its members...trying to create friendship and love and support for those that need it. We, the Patch, with Sparks as our leader, will always be a place of true friendship and keeping our thoughts about others in the relm of decency...if we can't do that...it is time to take a vacation from the Patch...and come back when we are sane and can keep our negative comments to ourselves. My daddy always said, "if you can't say something good about somebody, don't say anything at all". Way too many people never heard this as a child, and we, as a society, are the poorer for it.

I have only been here a short time and have quickly found this to be the best special interest forum I have ever been a part of. Thanks for keeping it headed in the right direction.

I use that phrase, or something of a similar sentiment, a few times a week to the associates at work, clients, etc. So much importance in such a little phrase.

If I am not part of the problem, or part of the solution, I try to stay uninvolved and if anything, encourage the people to work it out between themselves.
Unless I am a principle in some sort of disagreement, I cannot be sure I have all the facts.
I skate through work with rarely any problems....there is always a lot of drama going on with others, they learned long ago that I won’t end up in a huddle.
If someone at work starts speaking about someone committing an offense and trying to get me as an ally, I take the approach that I suggest accompanying the person so he can air the grievance with the individual that committed the offense, I will play mediator and not take sides.
I never get taken up on the offer.

Most the time I just try to ignore those who seem to want to argue or antagonize and keep building my IGNORED list. No I'm not much of a moderator when it comes to online, I'd rather deal with a person face to face but, am unable to here so...........

I've stayed away from posting since the original thread, but I have to say this as a generic statement, not taking sides. Libtard is as offensive and wrong for a forum of this high quality as is Republitard. That, in any rational world, cannot be a misstatement.
Someone calling someone out, mentioning the rules, in a benign way, might not be preferred as a response, but let's get that stated. Let it work both ways.
I will say that I am relatively conservative, which would favor the use of the word, but more than anything, decorum is a better word than a political faction

That's likely all logged somewhere; people shouldn't have any expectation of privacy on the internet 'cause there is none... but either way, again, glad this was responded to. Regarding the tired political bashing... look guys, truly, no one cares which flavor of the month you'd vote for or against. Anyone who takes an emotional level of interest in politics is doing it wrong. But using any variation of the word "tard" to refer to an entire group of people you'd likely otherwise be friends with (everyone here has significant common interests after all), simply because they voted opposite of you? That's not even rude, it's just silly. There is a rule about needing to be an adult on a tobacco forum, isn't there?

Worry about yourself we have moderators to moderate, we have ignore buttons to screen people we don't like. If you are not a moderator do not moderate people. These I am victim rants are wearing thin. Let people post what they want to post and move on down the road if you don't like it don't read it. There are people here who have known one another longer than this forum has been around expect them to poke fun. Post as darn much as you want and don't let anyone dissuade you from doing so other than a official moderator.

It’s not open source and doesn’t have some of the same flexibility of a standalone server running forum software. PM access is just not a part of the functionality on our end.

Very happy to hear that you cannot read pm's as some of the pics that trailboss sends me....... JK!
Stay strong patchers and if you need to talk something out many on here are great sounding boards (via pm of course).
