It was brought to my attention recently that a small faction of people decided that it was their place to band together, elect a representative, and approach another member about his prolific posting. But wait... it gets better. It was presented to the leadership of this forum, that if we did not do something about this "prolific poster", the little faction was going to stop posting, and leave the forum.
Guess what. Good riddance.
I have NEVER in my life heard of such child like behavior among what I thought was a group adults. Who in their right mind thinks that they have ANY god damn right to decide whether someone is posting too much, or that their posts are not of suitable value to justify their posting. No one person is more important than another in this community, and if anyone starts to get the slightest inkling that they are, please, by all means, delete your damn account. Better yet, message me, and I will take great pleasure in deleting your account and banning your arse from this place.
To those of you that thought it was appropriate to approach another member via private message, and tell him that his posts were not of significant substance, and essentially try to bully him from this forum... fucking shame on you. SHAME ON YOU. I have honestly never been so disgusted with a group of people that I considered friends and family.
I am sorry for this rant, and I am sorry for the language... and yes, I'm breaking all kinds of rules... but guess what... It was justified. If I ever hear of such a pathetic, shameful thing again by a group of people here, I promise you, I will be the one to personally push the ban button on you and never lose a second of sleep about it.

usual props from our fearless leader. I read about the arse-hat(s) who had the "bravery" to get into this. I'll 2nd the person who was "trashed". A truly great contributor here, always positive & fer sure did NOT deserve said treatment. Last I seen, the "victim" is back, backed up by everybody who read that thread.

I guess I'm not around here enough to see what happened. BUT... How stupid can these people be? Don't we have enough bullying going on in every day life lately? Maybe that is what makes them feel justified to do what they did. It happens all the time, so it must be ok. Sheesh!

Forum moderation is not an easy task, it is a 24/7 job dealing with people from a variety of world views and experiences that have shaped them to what they are. Throw in an electronic medium that lacks the nuance that you have in face to face conversations, and misunderstandings, differences of opinions can fester into some real issues.
The PM feature is a great tool to correct misunderstandings and to offer a gentle rebuke when done with humility, and it should stay in the realm of the PM with that person.
I say this with no relation to the recent past controversy in question but to going forward.

I’ve met some wonderful people since being a member of the Patch, I’m moving forward and will not add any further comment to this thread other than THANK YOU ALL and..................
Peter, now that all has been rectified in a proper manner, I truly hope real soon to see you posting once again here on the Patch. Because of the atmosphere here I spend more time here than all other forums combined.Here I feel like I'm part of an on going friendly conversation..I try to post in a respectful,positive way.I hope at least some of my post are worth reading.To be honest I don't pay any attention to how many posts anyone has..I know that a lot of forums have very little activity,some almost none.Members that participate are what keeps a forum alive.The more posts the better..I say keep them coming..The more the merrier.

It is disturbing that those people chose to act in such a manner. But they made their choice and have to face the consequences of their actions and reactions.
It is time to move forward along this path of discussion. Maybe sometime I may join you for a short way but yet maybe not.

This kind of "activity" described by Sparks runs rampant through our society. You stop it by doing what many of us did, support the person who is being unjustly treated, point out how wrong the perp-i-TRAITORS are and refuse to tolerate such behavior. I think as a group, we handled the situation and thank goodness did not lose a valued member here. As to those who launched such a vile attack, that not only beat up on a great guy, but also attempted to taint the character of another member, they should do some soul searching. Why would you do such a thing? Shame. Shame. Thanks for your righteous anger and cogent post, Justin.
