Sounds like a good blend👍 I too am not a fan of SWR, what ever I had a number of years ago I blended with some aged Newminster #400 Superior Navy Flake. What a difference, I actually enjoyed the smoke. Somewhere I have two 3,5 .oz jars in one of my containers. Now aged for over 5 years. Once I’m done with one of the many blends I have opened now, I must open a jar of my SWR blend and see if the aging made a bigger difference. Newminster #400 is an excellent underrated Flake with 4 plus years of aging by itself, the SWR added a pleasant taste to my palate as I remember. Glad your idea worked well for you. I hate to use any tobacco as fertilizer if it’s possible to make it a more enjoyable smoke.

It's a mood tobacco for me. I smoked a tub throughout last year, but am in no hurry to replace it. Stokkebye Cube Cut scratches the same itch for a lot less $.

Sounds like a winner. What made you think of pairing it with a Virginia?

I found myself very surprised to really enjoy SWR. The pouch is very lightly topped but the tub has a lot of anise topping which I found enjoyable. The tub needs to dry out some but I went through it in about 3 months. It is a simple and comfortable smooth and cool blend which is quite tasty. Like any blend be sure to try several bowls in a pipe to bring out the subtle flavors of the blend. I have several pipes dedicated to it now after 20 years of being something of a VA snob 😊
