G'day everyone.
I'm looking for mild bulk blends with low nicotine for my first smoke of the day. Most of my blends in hand are mild-medium which are a touch too strong for my first bowl of the day.
At the moment I smoke a small bowl of Formers Birds Eye Flake with my morning cuppa. It's a VaPer that's really mild but also has flavour. Unfortunately it only comes in a 50g tin & is usually out of stock.
I'm looking for any mild non-aromatic bulk blend recommendations. Lightly topped blends such as Epiphany, Chestnut, Count Pulaski or Orlik Golden Sliced for example, are to my liking so any suggestions in that direction are fine also.
One mild blend that I'm keen to try is Peter Stokkebye English Luxury #17 but I've yet to see it in stock at my on-line tobacconist.
Thanks, Elric.

Elric, if John Bull Royal English is available I’d suggest giving a pouch a try. Many here on the Patch have recommended this non aromatic English lately. It’s a light smoke as well, perfect first pipe of the day blend. C&D mild English I’ve smoked in the past is worth a try as well. HAPPY HUNTING 👍

Only the other day I was reading here comments on John Bull. Reviews at tobaccoreviews sounded good so I checked my online tobacconist & would you believe that they don't stock John Bull? Couldn't find C&D mild English. Did you mean C & D Smooth English or Sweet English? The Sweet sounds interesting but might be too aromatic. Just found one that might fit the bill; Newminster #17 English Luxus.

I just looked @ Smokingpipes.....C&D Mild English doesn’t seem to be available any more.
Newminster #17 is within what your looking for, plus it’s sold in bulk. I’ve yet to smoke a Newminster tobacco I didn’t enjoy, #400 Superior Navy Flake with 4 plus years of aging is an excellent tobacco, fairly inexpensive Flake.

Just ordered a pound of English Luxus. It's really good value at $29.30. A straight Virginia flake sounds good. I've got over 2lb of PS Luxury Navy Flake jarred & cellared. It's jar note is delicious with just over 6 months ageing. Looking forward to what it's like in a couple of years.

I have found Cornell & Diehl's "Good Morning" to be a mild English blend along the same line as Dunhill's "Early Morning Pipe". Good for that first pipe of the day, but it's not sold in bulk I believe.

Mild English you say? Boswell Titus would be my choice. I like a little more oomph, but for a low strength English, Titus is really hard to beat. And its inexpensive in bulk.

I would recommend C&D Byzantium. Light to medium latakia. A little oriental for tang on top of light Virginia. I smoke it often as my morning smoke. Bulk is 30 - some bucks a lb.

Available in bulk from pipes&cigars.com. Elric lives in Australia, the custom fee’s would end up costing him three times the price of the tobacco. Even if he ever decides to grow his own tobacco on his land, he’d have to apply for a permit. Imported goods are highly taxed through customs in Australia.

I tried this recently and was impressed how close it was to Early Morning Pipe.

Duty on 1lb of tobacco is over $544. Import duty on general goods isn't so bad, just 10% GST (Goods & services tax). As tobacco is treated differently, the GST is not applied. Growing tobacco here for personal use has more severe penalties than for growing cannabis. Pfffft, I'm a rebel at heart.

Where do you purchase your tobacco from, elric ? TobaccoPipes At first I used 4noggins but when a $150aud order never made here to Oz, the owner couldn't have cared any less. As it hadn't left the U.S., the sender needed to make inquiries with USPS. 4noggins couldn't be bothered. I lost a couple of MM cobs, a bent Falcon & various bits & pieces. Up until then, I'd spent over $2,000usd at 4noggins. When an order from TobaccoPipes seemed to have gone missing according to the tracking, my money was immediately refunded without me even asking (I had only asked them to check with USPS) It eventually arrived (And yes, I re-paid immediately) Smart business owners look after their customers. I highly recommend TobaccoPipes.Excellent customer service.

I see 4-Noggins is still living up to its' reputation..."couldn't care less" seems to be the new owners motto. Rich, if he even bothers to check anymore, would be having a fit. He had customer relations down to a fine point...he took care of his customers as if they were gold...and they were, to him.

I tried this recently and was impressed how close it was to Early Morning Pipe. Thanks William. Choice of tobacco here is very limited thanks to the outrageous 'plain packaging' laws (Introduced by ........ well, don't start Elric) It's a small market as is, the new laws made it economically nonviable for blenders. The oldest tobacconist in Sydney that sold mainly pipes, tobacco & cigars had enough & closed shop. The price of tobacco here is a pathetic joke. 50g of tobacco is now around $90. By the end of the year 50g will cost $100. Around 18 months ago I discovered the wonderful world of on-line shopping. Considering our ludicrous tobacco laws, I had presumed that importing tobacco without licence would have been a hanging offence. As it is, the laws for importing tobacco without a licence will be tightened further in June this year. As we aren't sure if or how this will affect poor schmucks like myself, I've spent every spare $ buying bulk before then. The C&D Good Morning is said to be "reminiscent" of EMP. Sutliff does an EMP match called Sunset that is so popular that it's usually out of stock. I bought a pound recently. It's nice but as I'm an inhaler, there's a big difference between 'mild' & 'mild to medium', especially first thing in the morning. Funny that you mention PS English Oriental Supreme. Only last week 8oz arrived. It is so latakia forward to my taste, not something I usually go for as I was expecting it to be Oriental forward. None-the-less, I liked it so much that I kept going back to it all day.

I've got so many blends here, that I totally overlooked my 1lb bag of Sutliff Light English #302.
I'll try this with my morning cuppa tea & see if it does the job.

Well yes, I suppose it is past my bed time. I'm debating with a few peeps on another forum & it's so easy to forget the time. It's now the following morning, 11am. I had a bit of a sleep-in.

Good morning all. #302 Light English is exactly what I was looking for. It was right under my nose all this time. Quite a pleasant MILD English that has a very light topping (Cognac maybe?)
