So my girls use a gaming platform called roblox. It's a free platform where games can be created and played.
They love it and it's great to play with them on it.
They have their own account each, but they wanted me to play with them and created an account for me to use. The username is a combination of the names of my two dogs (missy and Rosie).
So I'm playing with my girls online, and i notice that people are calling me either Missy or Rosie, and then it hit me... I'm that middle aged person with a belly and beard posing as a little girl on the Internet. 😱😱😱😱

Perhaps you could volunteer with some law enforcement group to keep an eye out for (other) odd acting folk;j
Seriously, I know around here, that would be considered risky behavior for anyone, especially folks in our vocation.

I love children in a good way, but I have noticed that I have to be very careful about admiring them and contact is a no-no of course. It sucks because I would make a great grandpa. As a churchman you have to be doubly cautious.

Indeed I do. I renamed the account and I also never chatted with people or accepted their friend requests. It's so easy to unwittingly get in trouble.

The online gaming community, like anything on the internet can be a really good thing. With any good thing though there is the opposite dark side to it as well. That whole yin and yang thing is pretty spot-on.  Two other games they're worth looking into and having fun with others, mainly ones that you know is Garry's Mod and Minecraft. They aren't free but are really cheap and full retail let alone when they go on sale. I picked up Garry's Mod some time ago for only $2. Both are open world sandbox games that you can do most anything you want with it. And they both have all sorts of extras that you can download for free and add-on to do all kinds of other things too. The nice thing about Garry's Mod and Minecraft is you can create a world where only you and those you know can play in. So there's no chance of weird strangers. It's been awhile but a few friends and I would like to load up Garry's Mod and there's a downhill sled map. You take various items from the inventory that is available and you cobble together your own sled. Once everyone is done you can then lineup and race down a mountain with perfect digital snow. I cannot tell you how many crazy things would happen during that time. |

A fella once told me that in order to teach first grade he had to get a degree from a university in order to learn to relate to kids on their level so he could teach them..Sounds like you have that relationship thing down really well.

 I thought about my Grandaughter whrn you posted, we lived away and when she was about 2 yrs old she was very wary of strangers, we visited and she wouldn’t come close, she had a tent in living room and Grandmaw tried to get her to come in tent with her, no go. I then did something completely out of character for me she was on the sofa, I took my fingers and walked them by her doing my Mr Bill voice, she’ made like she wasn’t listening, but jumped down and slid by me, looked down and in a tiny voice said Bill. I knew I had her, later on wife, her, me and Mr Bill were playing in the tent.

Games like Elder Scrolls online are full of men playing as females the toons costumes look better. Games are a escape from reality the toon you create is just like a character in book and that's what some games are a big book in color with moving pictures.

Thought Paddy was going to share something with all of us......lol Ummmmm, posing on the Internet with “ your “ intention is harmless, you were gaming with your daughters. No harm, no foul. For “ those “ that didn’t have the same intention as you, here in the States you’d be watched online in minutes. Within a few hours expect a knock on your front door, there would be cops and a SWAT team ready with a set of cuffs to be slapped on you. |

Paddy, as an additional wanring, my sons played online games from an early age. These games give you the ability to chat with other players who are really anonymous. They were approached more than once by players who wanted to meet them. Fortunately, the games gave the ability to block chat from other players on an individual basis which we did, but you really have to be wary.

Just read about a guy whose boys complained to him of a creepy guy in a van who would sit in the parking lot at school and stare at them. He told the principal and was promised they'd get right on it.
Now he'd been doing electrical work at a facility near his sons' school, and would park in the school parking lot to eat lunch and use the wifi. He would wave to his sons as they went from one building to the cafeteria. They'd never seen him in his work van in his hardhat and sunglasses.
After a 30-minute conversation with the cops in the three police cars and the principal, they decided not to arrest him, but asked him not to park there anymore.

Yep it’s a bad world, I was going to the feed store and a young girl was walking on side of the road, country lane, rain waiting to bust the sky’s, did I stop, NO, never want to be labeled as a pervert, it’s a creepy world now, you can’t help,people.
