We hope that you can join us. Gary will have some pipes and tobacco's for sale at the meeting, be sure to see the attachment to the club newsletter if you are a subscriber.Saturday, May 11th at 1 PM Big Sticks Fine cigars, Mesa Arizona

Thanks, Dan!
Did Ron from Wickenburg make it? He mentioned that he was probably going.

No...he didn't make it, we hope to meet up with him in the future though! We had thirteen in attendance, a new attendee from Phoenix, a guy named Kenny that has been smoking a pipe for only a couple months, he is the guy with the cap and the red beard. It was great to see Gary from Ye Olde Pipe Shoppe, otherwise known as The Godfather of pipe smoking (third pic, far right) and his trusty friend Dante (2nd pic, far left) ...both of them and Kenny traveled across town, to join us from Ye Olde...the meetings are always better with their presence. Max Stokkebye is going to be at Ye Old Pipe shop this coming Wednesday, I am looking forward to meeting him if my schedule allows.

If you have been in pipe smoking, for even a short time, you will probably be familiar with the Name Stokkebye...the family is somewhat Iconic in tobacco products that go back a long way. Peter Stokkebye was a phenomenal blender and his blends are synonymous with quality tobacco's at a great price. His son, Eric runs Eric Stokkebye products, and Max works for Scandinavian Tobacco group, which bought the rights to Peter Stokkebye. If That confuses you, listen to the Pipe and Tamper podcast where Erik lays out the family history. pipeandtamper.com/erik-stokkebye

Thanks for the report, Charlie, and the Stokkebye head's up.
This being my birthday and all, I was, of course, overruled as to what I was going to do with my day. Ah, the heady days of yore when I was a bachelor and believed my time was my own.
I hang on the virtual window sill peering from the outside looking in at a wonderful gathering of kindred spirits. My goal is to make "Pipe Night" and maybe even Stokkebye Night, though family medical issues may keep me away... again... :-(
Anyway, besides all of that drama, it's wonderful to hear that the AZ Pipe Club cruises on, sharing tobacco, stories, and good times.

Hope you can catch Pipe Night, David! Not the same without you! Very kind of you to say, thank you. The truth is, such gatherings bring much more enrichment to my life than I bring to them. I don't miss them lightly.

I agree with Dan's sentiments Dave...you were missed, I hope that the issues of life get fixed in short order....being under the weather really stinks, and that encroachment on pipe smoking is unfair! Thanks for the kudos guys, we really have a great time with the fellowship of the leaf....I smoked some great blends from the offerings at any pipe club meeting are phenomenal....everything else is icing on the cake. I was thinking that next month's meeting will revolve around taking Thor's Hammer for snuff, Chimo El Toro Snus, and a group 5 bowl of Brown Bogie for man-card re-certification in the club....But with Kayla being there, we will hold off for a month or so. We are paring it back to rattlesnake juggling and Scorpion kissing for the June meeting.

We are paring it back to rattlesnake juggling and Scorpion kissing for the June meeting. . . Following sampling of Charlie's Venezuelan sourced, plutonium-based SNUS: El Toro.

I will not be able to go to Ye Olde Pipe Shoppe tomorrow to meet up with Max Stokkebye ....the wifeโs birthday is tomorrow.
I could tell her โI am stoked to the Max about your birthday, I have somewhere to take youโ...
I think I would look like Wile E Coyote with a crate of dynamite.

Thanks,
it took some back and forth deliberations among us to fine tune it, and we settled on that one, Jiminks pointed us to an artist that helped us out with a very reasonable price.
