I am not sure I would miss any of them actually. I really thought about it and most of the actors/actress I actually liked have already passed. I watch about one movie a month and less than an hour of TV a day. It is just not my cup of tea. yea, I suppose 'miss' is the operative word. I won't miss anyone, to be honest, but when some actors are gone, it would be a shame.

I plan to get shite-faced the day Clint dies! But hey, any reason to get shite-faced is a good reason!

Having never personally known any famous actors or actresses, I won't miss any of them. I have personally known several local "celebrities" well enough to have spent hours drinking and fishing with them. They have passed on and I do miss them. This kind of thinking I understand [relate to] ... But , this thread [and vicarious thinking / feelings] I do not . I must be a weirdo'

I did have a 15 minute discussion with Jon Madden...he was the same in person as he came across as a football analyst...pretty down to earth. I met Ken Curtis, Ray Price as a kid...nice, but I was young...Nancy Kulp (Miss Hathaway) as a 20 something year old...nice lady.

I have met - introduced to and shaken hands with - a large numbers of celebrities and politicians. I was even given a ride in a limo with Kirk Douglas. I've also have spoken to and known a large number of news personalties but all that was before I retired from the Coast Guard. I even spent the day and had a drink with Alex Haley. I just don't consider that type of contact as being "friends" with them enough to miss them when they are gone.

Funny the thread opens with Clint Eastwood, as last week I had the pleasure of shaking his hand and passing along a quip or two. (He asked politely if he and his group could play through my slow foursome. Nobody thought to deny him. For one thing, it was his golf course!)
And he'd be among those aging actors I'd miss, for certain definitions of "miss". Hoffman, Jeremy Irons, and Charlize Theron also come to mind.

I don't want to anticipate anyone's end. They are pieces of my past and the last decade has seen too many pass. The way this thread is titled compounds a negative.

Yeah, I would miss Charleze Theron, but it would really be a tragedy if she passed before me. Selma Blair's tragedy has really touched me.

Not to be "that guy", but I will not miss a single one of them. They are really good at being something that they are not just to provide entertainment. I just don't place much value in that. Kind of the way I feel about it. +2

I like several Costner movies, besides DWW. Tin Cup, Open Range, The Bodyguard, Yellowstone, Hatfields and McCoys, Wyatt Earp, Field of Dreams, etc. I like all of these movies except The Bodyguard, which I've never seen. I'm not a fan of Whitney Houston.

John Wayne stood for much more that acting. I'm not sure that even Clint is at that level to be honest. I agree, Briarbuck!

I'm not a fan of Whitney Houston. Not a fan either, but she was ok in that film. At the time she was the obvious choice.

I would say something about what John Wayne really "stood" for, but I would just get in trouble. No admiration here. Thank you. So glad somebody said it. +1

Funniest movie I ever saw Clint in was Paint Your Wagon. Because it was a musical, he had to sing! Lee Marvin did some of his best drunk acting since Cat Ballou. Wow, I guess I'm showing my age here...
There are a lot of people in the entertainment business that I like, and will miss when they're gone because they brought some joy or laughs to my life.

I suppose a former president can be considered a “celebrity.”
Jimmy Carter is quite frail, and I suspect he won’t be with us much longer.
Not the greatest president, but what a wonderful human being.

"All right now, I'm comin' out. Any man I see out there, I'm gonna kill him. Any son of a beeotch that takes a shot at me, I'm not only gonna kill him. I'm gonna kill his wife, all his friends, burn his damn house down!"
Love that line!!
