Having never personally known any famous actors or actresses, I won't miss any of them.
I have personally known several local "celebrities" well enough to have spent hours drinking and fishing with them. They have passed on and I do miss them.
This kind of thinking I understand [relate to] ... But , this thread [and vicarious thinking / feelings] I do not . I must be a weirdo'

Same here...I met quite a few famous people, mostly 49'ers from the Montana/Young/ Bono era.
I did have a 15 minute discussion with Jon Madden...he was the same in person as he came across as a football analyst...pretty down to earth.
I met Ken Curtis, Ray Price as a kid...nice, but I was young...Nancy Kulp (Miss Hathaway) as a 20 something year old...nice lady.

I should clarify my statement. I have met - introduced to and shaken hands with - a large numbers of celebrities and politicians. I was even given a ride in a limo with Kirk Douglas. I've also have spoken to and known a large number of news personalties but all that was before I retired from the Coast Guard. I even spent the day and had a drink with Alex Haley. I just don't consider that type of contact as being "friends" with them enough to miss them when they are gone.

Meeting "Festus" had to be a hoot!

Funny the thread opens with Clint Eastwood, as last week I had the pleasure of shaking his hand and passing along a quip or two. (He asked politely if he and his group could play through my slow foursome. Nobody thought to deny him. For one thing, it was his golf course!)
And he'd be among those aging actors I'd miss, for certain definitions of "miss". Hoffman, Jeremy Irons, and Charlize Theron also come to mind.
I don't want to anticipate anyone's end. They are pieces of my past and the last decade has seen too many pass. The way this thread is titled compounds a negative.
Not to be "that guy", but I will not miss a single one of them. They are really good at being something that they are not just to provide entertainment. I just don't place much value in that.
Funniest movie I ever saw Clint in was Paint Your Wagon. Because it was a musical, he had to sing! Lee Marvin did some of his best drunk acting since Cat Ballou. Wow, I guess I'm showing my age here...
There are a lot of people in the entertainment business that I like, and will miss when they're gone because they brought some joy or laughs to my life.

I assume we are going with older actors/actresses...
While Clint would be my choice also, but there is no need to repeat him. But, to add another, I am going in a different direction - Bob Newhart. Even after all these years, his stand up routines are still HILARIOUS!!
I missed that Bob had passed. I will miss his humor, even though it was rare to see him in later years, except in some Big Bang Theory episodes. I loved his humor and deadpan delivery. A funny, funny man. And a gentle and kind soul from everything I have ever read about him. Godspeed, Bob.
I won't miss most of the late-night hosts, they pretty much would not garner skid mark status on Johnny Carson's underwear.
It really is sad how easily achievable "celebrity status" is given to some...at one time it was achieved, now it is given.
