I had my Country Gentleman go through the entire wash cycle, and half of the drying cycle. Is it toast? Would you smoke it after being cleaned with Tide, or is it a lost cause? It's only a cob, I know, but it's MY cob. Specifically, my lawn mowing cob. It smells clean!

I'd say it'll be grand. The thing might need a bit of a drying...might gurgle a little.

I wonder if this might be the new way to clean pipes in general. You could add Downy to the wash so your pipes came out soft and clean smelling. 🙂

Think about this. Tide vs burnt pipe tobacco, spit and venom. Heck yeah, drop a cotton ball and some alcohol in it and by tomorrow you might have a new pipe cleaning method Next load, add some gin

If it’s in one piece, let it dry out and smoke it....you’ll be fine👍👍

Sounds like the guy I once talked to who put his meerschaum through the dishwasher because the shank and bowl were getting brown. In his case, he did it intentionally. Amazingly enough, it was perfectly fine afterwards. He also learned a bit more about meerschaums.

It's bad enough with the crazy kids eating Tide pods. You just had to take it a step further and smoke them didn't you?

If it were me, on to a new cob.

I'd flush it thoroughly with hot tap water to get rid of any possible Tide residue, towel out the chamber; pipe cleaner or two; dry, and light up.
