I been doing this since I was a kid.Over that 57 years I have gotten some strange looks from people watching me pour Spanish peanuts in a 2/3's full coke bottle. The best was an elderly gentleman in Mombasa Kenya. He didn't speak a word of English,he just stared as I did my thang. After a few minutes he wandered over to my table and pointed at my coke.I really didn't know what to do so I ordered another coke and a package of peanuts and set it across from me and gestured he sit down.He opened the peanuts and hesitated as he started to pour them in his coke...…….I nodded affirmatively and he emptied the bag in his coke. After a minute or two he hoisted the coke bottle and got his first slug.A huge smile came across his face as he chewed the coke soaked goobers.I spent 3 weeks there training Kenyan Marines...….every afternoon I stopped by that hut and purchased 2 cokes and 2 bags of peanuts...…..not one word was ever spoken, the old mans smile said it all.
Have you had your coke and peanuts today?

Haven't thought of that in 60 years, but yeah, I used to do that when cokes were a nickel...same for the peanuts...was great!! Used to do that all the time and then go bike riding all around my neighborhood (when you could do that as a kid and not get shot at).

Yo whis - in North Carolina, the drill was those salted peanuts and an RC, then a Moon Pie. The purists would shake up the RC/peanuts then douche the mixture (need the bottles to be able to do that).

Has to be done in a glass bottled Coke, doesn't work well in a can or glass! When I was a kid, we'd ride our bikes down to the local Gulf gas station and get our bottle of Coke or RC from the ice box that held the bottles by their neck and you'd pull them around thru the ice water to the hole you could pull 'em out ! Those were the coldest drinks !

Haven't done that in awhile, For me, it was Peanuts and Pepsi, with an occasional change up with Mountain Dew, when the hillbilly was still on the bottle.

Learn something new every day. I'll have ti try this. Anything special about the peanuts? Just simple salted nuts or what? I've always preferred salted Spanish peanuts skin on...…..but in a pinch any salted peanut will do.To me the most important ingredient is Coke,Coke Zero(my go to)or RC cola

Never ever heard of such a thing but I must say I am willing to try it. Wonder what peanuts in a bottle of beer would be like?

I never tried that, but I remember an episode of Ironside where the villain did, and that clue led Ironside to capture him. The villain was played by Russell Johnson. Guess the professor got off that island one way or another.
