I think the guy is a grandson of J. Paul Getty. I bet the LA DA is thrilled to be prosecuting this. If the ATF didn't screw up so much I would less sceptical. He is also a Federally licensed dealer. One reason I never set up shop as an "official" gunsmith is that I talked to some dealers and 'smiths and the stories they told about the ATF scared me off. They do not direct their energy to stopping criminals so much as setting up the dealers trying to do right. Low hanging fruit. Yep, I also decided not to be an "official" gunsmith for the same reason. The ATF prefers to screw with little guys running a corner gun shop than real criminals. I always love the breathless reporting on this kind of stuff...1000 rounds of ammo! Jeez-us, I have about 4000 for my 2 dozen guns, and another couple thou of various brass.

They had time to move all of those, I assume some sort of cataloging had to be done which to me would take a few hours. Counting the ammo, searching the whole place, checking every gun to make sure was not loaded, stack in a nice pile. Good to see they found something to do with all their spare time.

Police department spokesman said that they would be catalogued at the station. I hope that the owner has his records up to date. That pile could shrink by 20% in just a few miles.

This guy is ready for his own personal war. You can only shoot one at a time.

Still don't know what is really going on. Still enjoying the media shock over how much ammunition was found. On another note, I saw the colors on this one and this is what popped in my head.

That's a special edition Ruger 10-22. You can by that color laminated stock from Boyd's for most rifles. I got one in a more subdued color for my Savage Axis.

Actually, looking at the stills, there's some pretty nice stuff in that there pile. Time for the sprinkler system to come on. They better have some pretty good evidence of wrongdoing. I would imagine what they don't have in evidence they'll make up.
Anybody that thinks for one minute those or any seizure of guns will be destroyed had better think twice. I bet anything worth anything will be pocketed by someone ...............I've seen it happen.

It is so sad that the demographic on this forum has so little faith in the LA Police and the ATF. Life experience has brought us to this point, but I still believe that 90% of cops are doing their best to be heroes.

I will do everything within my power to help the cops out as they protect and serve, but if I suspect that I am the target, it is time to lawyer up, in any regard never allow a voluntary search of home or car. I fully support law enforcement, but some are bad eggs.

Life experience has brought us to this point, but I still believe that 90% of cops are doing their best to be heroes. I've had my fair share of experiences with the police and court room prosecutors and I can say very little of it was good. Cops lie just like many people and prosecutors go the extra mile to convict. It seems they don't care whether your innocent or not because they don't get promoted for how many cases they lose with a not guilty verdict. Has anyone seen the count of innocent doing time in prisons nowadays, it'll change your mind. I know there good cops out there cause I met one one time. As of late it seems most that I have run into when I've called them for help don't wish to do there job and make excuses as
to why they can't. But, if I was to take care of the problem myself I'd be the one going to jail. I've been wrongfully excused, pulled over and arrested on false pretenses, sentenced without due process and, falsely charged and arrested.
They know what they can get away with and how to do it, specially to someone they know can barely eke out a living much less afford a attorney. They made me who I am today, all people did, I trust NO one, nor can I afford to.
As far as the ATF...........I remember Waco and I don't for one minute believe the convoluted stories the press and government try to get us to believe. Dosen't take a brain surgeon to see what really went on there.

rdpipes, I have had the same experience with several family members. No interest in the fact that people are innocent or guilty. Once they have you everything will be done to punish you regardless of the facts.

There was a time in my life I trusted many but, they all sooner or later proved untrustworthy. Hope you fair better then I.

If you draw the attention of a Feds you are doing something wrong. Or, someone who doesn t like you fabricates a complaint to the Feds, they will come down on you like a falling grand piano and investigate later (If at all). I once had an ex employee tell the IRS that I was cheating on my taxes. It was a bitch (expensive) proving it baseless. I also once had to fight a lawsuit filed against my small company because the company name sounded like another company's name that was being sued.
