Hi, being a junior member is like playing for the youth team, it is when they call you senior member, you feel you are being retired to the porch with rocking chair & shawl & an endless supply of Captain Black in your ancient burnt out corncob, , enjoy, bye.

One thing special about THE BRIARPATCH that distinguishes itself from other pipe forums is the absence of adolescent-like hazing and good ol boy back woods style clansmanship. This seems to come part-n-parcel with many clannish forums wherein the badge of one's seniority, worn pridefully, brings with it an often expressed snide sense of sinister sarcastic entitlement that is demeaning & abusive to newcomers and cultural outsiders. Once that door is opened it never fully closes. I have left many such dens of iniquity behind in the dust. The decorum here is well-maintained and of a class a cut above, as is our membership. Cheers!
