After giving it much thought. I've decided that I really like sitters. If I could go back to my pipe buying days.I definitely would concentrate more on buying sitters..How do you feel about them?

Their pretty handy if you smoke while you work and ideal for card players.

Mostly pots, billiards and apple shapes work best realy. I'd call a straight bulldog more of a leaner ! I have lots of sitters and love 'em

I have several sitters and it's nice to be able to set them down on a table or desk, but I have a Stanwell leather pipe rest (like the one shown below), which makes all of my pipes "sitters".

The majority of the time I’m clenching the pipe I’m smoking, any pipe, even my sitters. If it’s a “ great to superb “ smoker I’ll go with any shape👍

I have a few, but I've never had any reason to just sit it down. I usually hold my pipe whether I am reading or doing something sitting down.

I prefer something I can set down whenever without worrying about a pipe stand. I do clench most of the time but I do like a good sitter.

I prefer them too. I hate it when my pipe rolls on its side and the tobacco falls out.

I have a few, and they are fine, but I am not looking to acquire another. (Nor looking to avoid same)

I prefer them too. I hate it when my pipe rolls on its side and the tobacco falls out. Likewise. That happens to me. I really like the pipes with a narrow flattened surface on the bottom of the shank and bowl so they can be rested in the upright position. I don't really care for pokers with the big flat bottoms, though those are probably the most stable shape.

I love the ones I have because I am always fiddling and it's nice to just sit the pipe down without worrying about a pipe stand.
