G'eve folks , this is my long term pipe dream escape plan a Wharram Design , Tiki 21 catamaran , a completely crazy sail off into the blueyonder pipe dream. I did some dinghy lessons & RYA navigation classes amongst working many years ago... but I cannot shake off the longing to get to sea, it is in the blood you might say, the materials , a self assembly shed hut kit to adapt and turn into a thrifty, self reliant budget, timber frame with light wooden slat planks, covered with waterproofed canvas or plastic, filled with a foam buoyant layer & sealed plastic membrane, a petrol generator & solar cells and wind generator to charge batteries to power an electric propulsion, & electric navigation & ham radio, with a Chinese Junk rig sail, roughly modelled on the Tiki21....pipe dream over, I need a smoke....dreaming of Boson Cut Plug mixed with Plum & Rum, my New Year Resolution.

That's one cool pipe dream Stan. Hope it happens. I'd be pretty happy if I could keep my weight below 180 pounds next year. A couple years ago I weighed 215 pounds and was able to do it all year in 2016 so I'm going to try and replicate that one in 2017. More fishing is also on the wish list now I'm retired.

HI, I have already some sea fishing gear, to replace the rusty coarse Angling rods, but I reckon, if I build it in four quarters , by dividing each hull into half , & making the four quarters & bolting them together, I am not building the Titanic after all, but it takes design & precision planning , with some skilled bodging & blood, sweat & tears...maybe I should stick to fishing & piping...once I get some rough sketches based on the tiki 21 plans with some computer aided design software, I have learnt some autocad in my engineering days, But health is everything, I could not swim 10m these days, but with modern safety gear & life rafts , there are so many factors about safety at sea, reading of some of the old lone ocean yachtsmen & ladies and the first solo voyagers across the ocean's and around the world, have inspired me over the years. But you cannot teach an old dog new tricks, we are so much creatures of habit, but the dream is better than the reality at times.....it can keep us going....bye.work in progress.

Hi Mark, I am nearly 209 lbs, at my height of 6ft 2in I should by 15lbs lighter to be on the safe side, but I do not get to burn off fat, but better be a jolly fat buddha than a grinning skinny buddha some people say, my plan is to try and detox in a sauna now I am more sedentary, like the native Americans and traditional European northern cultures. I reckon if you limber up and keep your joints and ligaments and muscles loose like in Tai chi rather than yoga, it us half the battle when senior, though it is not a laughing matter for some people so excuse my levity. The dog & pets are not to bothered what I look like at home, ..bye for now good luck with the resolution.

My resolution is a continuation of my lifelong desire to be less selfish, a better listener, less suspicious of other's motives and more carefree. I have a lot more to learn and far to go.
