On the first light, I get a tinge of orientals followed by the Virginias. After the true, the Virginia sweetness kicks in nicely. Subsequent puffs show the true nature of this leaf. Orientals, Latakia and Virginias trade places throughout, dancing over the tongue. Nothing is overpowering. So far, I am quite impressed with this pick. I am excited to smoke a more and see what else lays in store.

Sounds interesting. Thanks for your thoughts. I sense my location frustration might increase this month.

Smoked a bowl of it last night. I like it a lot. It's a summertime English. I could swear I hit a couple unflavored Cavendish patches, but that's not listed in the ingredients. Light on the Lat, Virginias are grass, hay, and sweet. The Orientals add a bit of incense. Overall, my first bowl was a real winner. I'll be buying more of this.

June's Blend - John Cotton's Number 1
I'm three bowls into my tin. My tin was from 2016. This is my first time smoking Number 1. I have smoked Number 1&2 previously. It's an English blend that has the Latakia in the back part of the flavor. I taste the Virginas as the prominent tobacco followed the Orientals. I think the only difference between 1 and 1&2 is that 1&2 has the Latakia as the dominate flavor.
For me this was an OK smoke. It doesn't make my top fifty. I liked it, but not enough to cellar any. I will enjoy the rest of the tin but that's all for me.

Every pipe I smoked this blend in did well with it. Everything plays well together and I find it a good balance all around. There’s a natural sweetness to it like grass and hay and the latakia is a good medium/low strength. Right out of the tin the moisture is spot on, at least with mine and it holds a flame immediately. From start to finish, it stays pretty tasty but does loose a bit of soul towards the end. Nothing that makes it worth stopping for as every bowl I smoked, I smoked to ashes.
A good blend for not a bad price. I cannot see myself going deep on this but when a sale hits, I wont mind adding a tin or two to my orders and cellar this away.

better late than never. smoked it thursday evening, didn't pay a lot of attention as we were sitting outside where it was cooler waiting on the AC repairman to show up. I filled about half the bowl and only got to smoke about half of that. i remember liking it, didn't really analyze it much, will try again tonight if we get to sit out.
