Dr John has died at age 77 years. He passed away at home from a heart attack. I waited for years to see him perform on American Masters, but it never happened. PBS really dropped the ball there.

Most only know for emulating the New Orleans sound but he was so much more than that. A true master at the piano.

I was saddened by this news. I was able to see him play one time. He was a true performer! He played with an all star band of younger players. I’ll try to find photos of it if I remember. There was sobody quite like him. I jammed some Gris Gris in his honor today.

Enjoyed his shows. Saw him in San Francisco long ago. A true original. Great sound.
