I was at Pipe club yesterday and was discussing pipe restoration techniques with a couple other members and a guy comes up and asks if I'd be interested in some Peterson's. He said he wanted to get rid of them because of the vulcanite stems and he didn't want the maintenance anymore. I picked them up for $20.00 each, got them home and cleaned them up and they appear to be pretty nice pipes. There are 3 Killarney line, a 53,150 and a 268. A Donegal Rocky X105, Shannon 999 and a Kinsale XL25.

Great pipes, and a great price. Nicely done.
I love my Dracula 999. If I ever buy another Peterson, that's the only shape I'll get.

Six for the price of one new Peterson.... I would say you did well.
I share the same frustration as the previous owner as far as vulcanite is concerned... I swear that my saliva is vulcanite reactive in a negative way, but I like the softness more than the acrylic.

You know, in theory, you never need another pipe, right?

I will give you $21 a piece, you know, since you cleaned them up and all. Gives you a little profit. Excellent 6pack - glad they found a home that will take care of them.

Holy wow. He didn't like the maintenance, but he did it anyway. None of those stems are even in bad shape!

Holy wow. He didn't like the maintenance, but he did it anyway. None of those stems are even in bad shape! The stems were a mess and I spent the morning cleaning them up. He had two Chacom's he wanted cleaned up but found someone to make acrylic stems for them.
