At some point I will have to break out my collection of pre-war pipes for photos but there is a suspicious lack of them in my camera roll.

I gave a very rare unsmoked Bjarne Nielsen to Randy from the BoB........never heard from him again. Definitely doesn’t surprise me!!! Seemed to be a trait of some of the members there...glad to be gone from the darkness. Speaking of Flame (Outs)! Here are three Flames from the 1999 RTDA series of 24.

How did three of twenty four come into your possession, Dave?

Some I have left after the great culling of 2019. what's this shape, Duane? It's not a Zulu, it's a yachtsman, right? I may have to tackle one of these sometime. Yachtsman it is! All Savinelli 904s and 9004s. GBD also has the shape as the 9613. You make one with antler and Cumberland, and I'll buy it!👍 Here's some shape reference shots.

what's this shape, Duane? It's not a Zulu, it's a yachtsman, right? I may have to tackle one of these sometime. Pretty sure those are Yachts... Close, Jason had it with yachtsman. The yacht, or zulu has a forward canted cylindrical chamber where a yachtsman has a vertical conical chamber. The forward swept bowl gives the illusion that the chamber is canted. Yachtsman was the designation that Savinelli and GBD gave to the shape.

I would've gone straight for a canted chamber!

I would've gone straight for a canted chamber! Very welcome! When I got my first one years ago, I would have guessed that too, but the clever design is just an illusion. The sweep of the shape always gave me the impression of forward movement.

Top pipe is an old Falcon I restored a number of years ago, still keep it polished. The two 2” stacks I made roughly ten years ago, both fitted tight with an “ O “ ring on the bottom of the bowls. The Meerschaum I designed and had custom made while living on the Island of Malta in 1987. The maker was 96 years old at the time and made pipes from his shop “ Pipes of Malta “ for over 60 years. The band is solid 18kt. gold, I had the Meer block glazed finished and kiln dried. I have over 5,000 smokes from this pipe, I actually lost count. Still in excellent condition and an outstanding smoker!!!!

Pappyjoe you have some beautiful pipes...that meer must be a tough clencher... It weighs around 18 grams. Definitely not a clencher but I have smoked it several times. The top of the lighthouse serves as a windscreen with the smoke coming out the windows.

I don't have any exotic pipes--mine tend to be everyday, working pipes. But I have tried to take some "glam" photos of them anyway. Here's a Mark Tinsky from the days when he was still working with Curt Rollar: And a couple of Danish-made Ben Wades: And of course, a Willmer from the late 1970s:
